I have fallen down the rabbit hole. I've modded about 3 Nintendo consoles in the last few months and love the entire process of getting a device to expand it's capabilities. I have a DSi in the mail and spent way too much time on ebay last night lol.

Try a vita and let me know how it goes lol. I believe I saw a video where you can now mod it and download games all directly on the system. Which is cool cause I don't have a pc, not a good one at least so I hate using it.

@CaliJose209 I have 2 modded Vitas. The modification was straightforward, deciding what content to put on there was exhaustive. It can play so many different consoles.

Luigi's mansion dark moon, Zelda a link between worlds and all the Mario RPGs (including those ported from GBA and ds) besides sticker star are all awesome games.. I've been through Luigi and Zelda at least a half dozen times each. If you're having to delete stuff to make room for new things then it's time to upgrade your SD card my man. You can literally just throw both into a PC and copy everything from your current to the new one and it'll be as if it's still the same card when you pop the new one in the system.

So what you are saying is if I essentially pop in my regular SD from my OG 3ds(not xl) that’s modded and put in a micro SD(cause the “new” 3ds uses micro) and just copy from my old SD to the micro one it’ll copy over the modded stuff as well? (The “new” 3ds I have is factory reset and not modded) and work?

@@Gnarkkotik_TTV I'm not sure if it applies to unmodded systems. But it couldn't hurt to try. Just make sure you copy all the hidden files/folders too.

Ik this is late but you can get Golden Sun Dark Dawn on your modded 3ds thru use of the Twilight Menu as it is a DS game I don't think you could get it normally

@@jackkemp176 thank you for the reply, i had it on my twilight menu ++ but it would constantly crash right out the gate, for reference or anyone reading this who is having the same problem: i ran it through nds forwarder and created a home icon on the screen for it and it plays no problem now

Nice video. I heard that having a lot of 3DS menu icons increases how long it takes for the system to boot, so I don't have too many on my N3DS besides what I'm currently playing. Also what app is that at 4:06? I don't think I've seen it before.

MCU bricker is a 3DS homebrew application that sets your notification LED into a rainbow cycle, it stays on when you close the console but will disable once you re-open it.

Virtual Console injects would be modded versions with button controls due to the lack of gyro, if you want gyro control there's a GBA emulator on 3DS that supports it but I forget the name.

You have to emulate it, but GBA emulation on 3DS is really bad. I'd recommend playing it on your phone if you have a phone with a gyroscope. It's really fun.

As of rn, it sorta depends on what you wanna spend. A NEW 3ds (or 2ds XL) doesn't need any games. Though I'd reccomend a bigger Micro SD card. Personally I have a 128 GB card. For the Old 3ds family, you do need Mario Kart 7 as out of the games required to mod your 3ds, it's the easiest to get. New 3ds costs more but Old 3ds requires Mario Kart 7

Nintendo ninjas and KZread’s antimodding division didn’t like my comment before, just know, it depends. There are different ways to do it and it varies in difficulty. I used Mario Kart 7 on my O3DS XL- wasn’t too hard at all. Just be patient and follow instructions. If you look on any modding site for the 3DS you’ll find the guide you need. Do not use video tutorials.

I have a 128 GB SD. As long as you format your card correctly, you can get a bigger SD for more space.

Hey uh I just wanna tell you that there is a way to not use the memory stick. You have to have a modded vita, but once you do that you can get a stick that plugs into the vita that takes micro SD.
