My man. Thank you. I went thru 4 or 5 different ewgf vids and could not figure out why I couldn't stick it, especially coming from Tekken as a Kazuya-main into Smash. The missing neutral input that I had to take out of my Tekken-movement. Now I can land a few, the rest will take practice. I appreciate the details!

I've watched so many of these tutorials as a smash beginner, and this one was by far the most helpful. 4 frames if you wait to down forward?? Why hasnt anyone else been mentioning this, thanks a lot man it really helped.

I have no idea how this isn't the first result when typing in "Kazuya Smash How to" on KZread this video has been the most important and helpful for this character than any others I have seen. I don't know why other content creators aren't explaining his most important move in this depth like you did. After hearing that you don't have to follow the 2 frame rule for the +A since mechanically it is very challenging I was so relieved. Thank you so much for this.

EWGF is incredibly tough to pull off, I’d go as far to say it’s the toughest move to consistently use in Smash, but once you master it, holy crap can you become unstoppable

This is quite a good tutorial, I can't yet hit it consistantly because maybe one in every five to ten attempts hits as ewgf but regarless, this video helped me hit it at least once :D

So you've never gotten the dragon uppercut with this method? That's been my biggest hurdle.

It also doesn't help that the GameCube controller isn't meant for these inputs

when buffering ewgf out of a throw, i hold the first input, forward, then when the animation ends i only have to input down A then diagonal, personally it’s been easier for combos

Have you labed using the tilt stick for the down-forward part? I believe this can have some interesting way around this issue and might give an easier way to imput the move. I haven't had time to lab it my self but since tilt stick is a macro of direction+A, I have the theory it works for this imput

You input dash on left stick. Down on C stick and then press attack and move the left stick slightly down at the same time to get the down forward input. Makes it easy to start a string with the ewgf out of a crouch dash dance.

Heyyyy bro loved ur vid have u thought of doing a gates of hell tutorial since that the only command grab in the game and the input for that are 20x harder then EWGF

No offence to other fighting games, but Tekken is the most technical fighting game I've ever played. I've had experience in it playing Tekken 1, 2, 3, 4, Tag tournament and 5 and with Kazuya being announced, got me excited. Sakurai did him so much Justice that Smash Kazuya literally plays like a Tekken character. Right down to the inputs. If he chooses to retire, he has certainly earned after this game gets its final update.

Tekken is so fun once you understand it. hard to get into though. Technical FGs for me has to be the Anime category... Some of them old anime fighters like Melty Blood are just pure evil and ridiculously unforgiving

Combo electric wind god fist with electric wind god fist. Then you combo electric wind god fist with electric wind god fist. All jokes aside this helped me massively bro

Bro i cant freakin do the stun uppercut i always end up doin the strong one where it sends them flying all the time. I been lookin for videos on how to do do it and so far ur video is by far the simplest way to put it, but man im still having trouble. Another thing i wanted to kno how to do that grab where he pushes opponents from the back with his feet i tried all grabbing methods and still cant figure it out

hey, so i did the forward , down, + button then down towards, and i still dont get it, they shoud scrap the other Godfist, that isnt electric alltogether

I play ryu and my muscle memory of always using shoryu and Hitting a after the inputs is really messing me up

Not technically. If you want a PEWGF in Tekken (which is a Kazuya-only thing) then doing a frame-perfect Dragon Punch input is one acceptable way (the other is to just skip the down input and do f,d/f+2 in perfect sync).

Excuse me, at 3:38 there's a menu with moves that the cpu can do. How do i find that menu?

Is your Switch modded or how did you get the "Mash Toggle" options?

I really wish it were easier. I wanna play the character because tekken 3 is my childhood, and this move is apparently the key to a lot of his coolest stuff, but I don’t practice this game I just jump in with my friends and use characters I like

That isn't electric wind god fist, that move is just called wind god fist, the version you get when you don't time the A button like the way the video says. You can tell because when you get the timing of an ewgf you'll see the blue electric particles around kazuyas fist, and if you didn't get it it's just a normal uppercut like at 2:06. 2:17 is what an ewgf looks like

Do I need a pro controller or a GameCube controller to do that because I cannot pull that off on my regular controller

thats the dragon uppercut. You're holding the attack button too much. Quick tap the attack button when inputting this

everytime i do it i get no stun and they just fly idk why

This would be cool if Smash controls didn't make sense. I assume Fighting games work just fine on all of their home consoles, but due to some weird control hiccups on Smash's end, sometimes moves just... Refuse to work? This would be acceptable if Sakurai didn't then add a character whose viability changes drastically based on a frame perfect input. Even using the L for one frame mode I can't seem to test the move correctly. Does anyone know what's going on inside the game's head when it decides what moves to do? Though PS for Postkemon Scriptdium, this is not on a gamecube controller. I'm not saying this is impossible, I'm just saying that if I were to practise this and become consistent, I wouldn't be very comfortable in feeling like I've been going more off intuition than the fact that I can trust the game's own code

Have to be crouch dashing to do it. If you don’t crouch dash, it’ll just input as a side A because you’re just standing. Slowing down the frames and practicing crouch dashing helps a ton. Then try to incorporate the A tap on forward down (just before the character actually dashes in the crouch)
