ULTIMATE internal circadian lights integration in Home Assistant

Circadian lights can be good for your health and help you both concentrate and relax. But you don't have to install HACS and use Circadian lights or Adaptive lighting to get that functionality.
Home Assistant had internal circadian light integration called Flux (currently 552 active installation).

Thanks Andrej. I love the adaptive lighting integration from HACS as you know. A lot of lights in my house work using adaptive lighting. Will give this a try one day too.

Thank you Ed! Yes, I've seen that one. Adaptive lighting is great and offers a lot of things, but Flux is "good enough" and requires almost no setup. But you do get what you pay for :)

I consider Flux a must-have component in my ha setup, at least about temperature of lights. For setting brightness instead I really recommend lux sensors (in esphome or in aqara PIR devices for example) in each room and set in % according to natural light. Nice video!!

Thanks for the tip about lux sensor. I actually have a lot of old data that will be used to set it up. :)

Winter will be here soon, you’re not wrong, put the heating on tonight! Excellent video, been thinking about this for a while, will have to give it a go now.

My first attempt few years back witch HACS circadian light was a fail - this time it works. But I think I was just complicating at the time. :) And as for winter - started heating 2 days ago - not good... Can't remember when I started heating so fast.

I remember using Flux when it was a stand alone custom component. At the time I first looked at it I ended up using automations do some colour temperature and brightness changes because at the time circadian lighting and flux were not quite up to the task. I might have to revisit it again now. Is Flux still YAML only, or is it also available in the GUI? Also, is there a way, say via an automation, to turn off Flux for a light if a manual light switch is used? Thanks for another great video.

I first played with circadian light custom component few years back but it didn't pass with my family :) Flux is still YAML only. And as for automation, since it creates switch, you can just toggle it off with automation and that will stop the cycle.

I'm using IKEA lights and they have been working great. Both single light colour but also warm/cold LED light bulbs.

Can you set the start time and the end time to sunset and sunrise? Or to another helper?
