Ukulele Warm-Ups to do EVERY DAY! (Strumming and Fingerpicking)

Hello! Today we doing some warm-ups! Many of you have told me that you don't know what to do for daily practice, so I decided to make a practice video you can revisit daily. The lesson starts at 0:34 and the daily practice begins at 5:56. In this warm-up video we are doing the following:
12 Bar blues chord progression
A7 A7 A7 A7
D7 D7 A7 A7
E7 D7 A7 E7
We are using this chord progression to practice two fingerpicking patterns
4-3-2-1
4-3-21-3
We will also be doing the island strum, add a chuck, and practice muting
All in all, the purpose of this warm-up is to get you picking, strumming, and to improve your playing. The more you do this, the more you will grow in your practice.

More of these!!! This is just what I'm needing, as a NOVICE, past beginner, but not intermediate at all. 1. A warm-up routine where I can see progress over time; 2. practice with strums, chucks, 2 finger-picking, and some novice chords. Really, there is a big missing space for NOVICE ukulele tutorials on youtube... Thank you...

Hi B! I’ve been watching your videos and yes, I’m still a beginner beginner (picked up an uke for the very first time). I’ve been going to uke lessons for over a month now and still working on some challenges with switching chords in the middle of strumming. Learning new chords and adding them to the routine are also something I’m trying to improve. I found your total beginner video is the best for a beginner beginner like me. My daily practice isn’t as extensive as this warm-up. I wish I had found this video sooner. Though I truly appreciate this video as I’m going to watch it everyday and incorporate it to my practice. Mahalo nui 🙏🏼

@@BernadetteTeachesMusic Hi Bernadette, It's now been over a month since I added the blues progression to my daily practice. Wow! what a difference in my playing, especially with chord changes with more complicated strumming patterns. I recently completed your 30-day Uke Challenge (I started it on June 9, 2019) and am I now playing independently, working on barre chords and have learned 3 songs: Imagine, Have you ever seen the rain, and Stand by me. When I started playing in June 2019, I never thought I would be able to play as well as I am at this point. I still have a long way to go but I love playing and learning. It's one of the highlights of my day, everyday! Thank you Bernadette! I couldn't have done it without you!

KitKat clearly approves of A7. She must like that sound. Bless! It is 3:37 a.m. here in the UK and I am praticising Ukuele. I blame you Ms B ;)

From a saw injury, I’m missing my middle finger and can’t fully curl my index, so picking and strumming is particularly challenging. But this routine is really good for me. Thanks! ❤

Frank hi Frank! Welcome to the uku world! It’ll be an easier transition for you as a guitar player because you’ve learned so many of the skills you’ll need for uku playing. Uku is much more portable, though!!

Oh! I just realized you and I are playing the same Enya ukulele. I bought mine after I saw your unboxing. Isn't Enya the most wonderful company? And their ukuleles are so beautiful. So thank you for that video - I love this ukulele.
