    I am 71 . My dad was a ww2 vet. I am so very tired of wars . The money they cost could solve so many problems in the world . And wealthy people would still be wealthy . And most people could have the opportunity to do more than just survive . They could enjoy life . And young men and women could live to build lives of their own .

    I wouldn't fight on any foreign soil. The only way l would contemplate fighting would be if they were invading my country like the Ukrainians are now doing. The problem with the Ukrainians is they don't know how to win. War is much like a game. You need defence and offence. They only use defence. A game cannot be won like that. Neither can a war. They have to use offence. Until Moscow is bombed by the Ukrainians the war will never end.

If putin loses, then putin dies. In the end he has nothing to lose by going nuclear, and no one knows if his own military will stop him from doing it which would mean a military coup. Ukrainians and Russians are the ones dying, predominantly, but the whole fucking planet is suffering because of that asshole. smh

And now, We're standing toe to toe Fighting hand to hand Dying for our nation's soul. Instrumental 🎶 If we lose. If this was our last fight. I promise you We didn't run and hide. Only one way to live Head high and full of pride What we would give Our blood and tears we cried. But now, We're standing side by side Defending arm in arm Praying for our lives. And now, We're standing toe to toe Fighting hand to hand Dying for our nation's soul. Instrumental 🎶 A burst of lightning coming from the morning sky confuses all We will not run and hide. Sympathy is justified for many of the Russian soldiers who have been forced to fight for a cause they do not believe in or support. President Zelenskyy will go down in history as one of the greatest leaders of our time. His fortitude and love for his country cannot be denied. It's hard to even imagine what it must be like for Ukrainians. Everything they were familiar with has been taken from them by a narcissistic sociopath. Their towns and villages, homes and possessions. The devastation of realizing love ones have died or unaccounted for. A population of people who had their own joys and their own sorrows, children who played happily in playgrounds, young adults making plans for their future. Parents hugging their sons and daughters who are now soldiers... not knowing what their fate will be. Sadly, all it takes is a unhinge narcissistic sociopath to turn an entire country into a war zone. Ironically, people in countries who have waged unprovoked wars continue about their daily lives unconcerned about the atrocities happening in a country that has been invaded. One must ask themselves, which is worse... The atrocities of war or people who support a war and give very little thought to the destruction and atrocities their country is/has committed?

    I spare a thought for the parents of the young Russian soldier who was killed a few days before his birthday. Most likely, his parents have spent a lifetime brining him up, loving him and educating him. And it all ended on a muddy field on another country’s land, carrying the ignominy of an invader, abandoned by the nation that nurtured him. I feel for them and for their loss. This multiplied thousands of times will ultimately be Russia’s disgraceful legacy in all of this.

  • @JMARTIN1947

    @JMARTIN1947

    The loss of that young Russian's life was a tragedy and, no doubt, his girlfriend & parents will mourn. But what advice did his parents give the lad? Did they tell him that he could lose his life trying to advance the kleptocracy that is now Russia? Did they ask him to consider whether the invasion of Ukraine was justified and whether he was participating in a criminal event? Did they tell him that Putin would never hear his name, let alone care about the ultimate sacrifice he might make, so why should he risk everything for such a man? No, I think his parents were Russian sheep that did not raise him to exercise critical thinking. I think his parents believed he would be a "hero" and that the money would come in handy. I'm sorry but if Russian men go to Ukraine with weapons, I will not spare thoughts for their deaths. The Ukraine/Russia war is a conflict about the destiny of nations and about autocracy versus democracy. It is nothing less than a struggle between good and evil.
