Ukrainian soldiers fire artillery systems from international allies near eastern frontline
Ukrainian soldiers fired western-supplied artillery systems in the eastern Donetsk region on Wednesday (May 31) as the country's president wanted to receive a "clear" decision on its future in the NATO military alliance.
Ukraine's president Volodymyr Zelenskiy made the remark at a summit of over 40 European leaders in Moldova, one month before the bloc's leaders will meet in Vilnius in July.
More than 600 km (375 miles) east from the summit, the Ukrainian army kept fighting Russian troops with artillery systems supplied by Czechia and France.
Commanding a Czech-made RM-70 multiple launch rocket system, Mykola commented on the much expected Ukrainian counter offensive.
"We’re always ready to attack. We are waiting for the orders, and the moment the order comes in, we’ll attack."
He added that his soldiers had hit an "enemy stronghold."
In another undisclosed location in Donetsk region, a battery commander going by the nickname Citroen said Ukraine could never have too many western-supplied shells.
"We have enough shells to carry out our tasks. But if someone wants to give us more, we would welcome this. We can't have too many shells."
Ukraine has proposed a peace summit this summer to cement its vision of peace as the only way to end Russia's war. It has not said where the event would take place.
Zelenskiy, whose 10-point peace "formula" entails the full withdrawal of Russian troops from Ukraine, also called for a coalition of powers to supply Patriot air defence systems and fighter jets to Ukraine to help fend off Russian forces.

@@Okidus I mean they are definitely losing. But it depends what you think losing means. Right? The US lost Vietnam. Why? We could have won. We could have kept going. But we lost our will to win. That’s how Russia loses. I get it. The US is a democracy so they lose their will quicker. They would have pulled out if they lost 200k soldiers. But Russia has a breaking point. They will eventually decide it’s no longer worth it. Either because the elites throw putin out or if putin sees his position threatened on the horizon and pulls out himself. They would probably chalk it off as a win, maybe keep Crimea. But that’s fine.

@kermitidiothunter5943 No it didn't. Russia mostly retreated in places of its choice. Remember, Russia attacked in the end of February, the begining of the mud season...and look at all the land it took. Sure some units litterally sank in mud, but in the big picture that was an exception.

@@endi5739 if it was that would be a misleading comment (since tatra only does the chassis) and in addition the majority of ceasars are not on tatra chassis (the one visible in the video is a Renault). and I'm talking about the RM70 because the Czech Republic has given RM70s manufactured by tatra (visible at the start of the video).
I like how nearly all NATO artillery I’ve seen the Ukrainians use don’t bounce around as much as Russian-made artillery.

It’s astounding how quickly the Ukrainians are able to get to grips with all this technical details as easy as pie, the “suggested” requirements are being blown out of the water.

I agree. Just like the how long they keep saying it will require European and USA to train them on f16s. Ukrainians can shrink that training down faster than countries can provide the jets. In many cases you have proven combat pilots with many hours of flight, in combat, on their older vintage Soviet era fighters. They have mastered everything we have given them masterfully. Even our defense department is in awe of how fast they have mastered the patriot systems. They have shot down just about every advanced ballistic and cruise missle Russia has in their arsenal. The Pentagon is getting some terrific data on how successful and how they can improve it in the future. Regarding f16s. I hope their are not so stripped down they wo t have an effective enough radar to not see the Russian ork planes before the Ukrainians. They give them a decent radar with enough range to see the Russian planes and medium to long range fire and forget missles than Russians will have to back further from ukraines airspace. I have how Russian planes are able to use their radars and fire from long distance over in Russia at Ukrainian planes and Ukrainian pilots never see it coming.

It''s a Czech rocket launcher. We have given the Ukrainians tons of equipment ( artillery, tanks, IFVs, rocket launchers, helicopters etc.) because the Russian horde invaded us in 1968 and stayed 20 years.
