I've notice their love for pets myself,many of the refugees are leaving with their pets,and some refuse to leave Ukraine not wanting to leave their pets alone,it shows a kind and humane people.

I have a Jack Russell Terrier too. She is such a sweet girl. My dog Summer always manages to make me feel better after a hard day. She knows just what to do when I'm down. This little bullet is and always will be a hero.

Terriers are one of the smartest breeds I've ever seen. My Yorkshire Terrorist has me well trained. Patron has joined the ranks of Ukrainian heroes. He's a real cutie pie. Stay safe.

Very true, they deserve all our respect. They help catch criminals, sniff for drugs, even sniffing cancer, finding the lost, leading the blind, comforting the lonely, etc.

I watched this one the other night with David Muir, who I count on for getting real news, and just fell in love with Patron. Such a brave little dog and one who has already saved many lives. He's smart enough to know who the enema, er I mean enemy, Putin, is, and shows he is not afraid to do his part to protect his people. I also watched little 7 year old Amellia Anisovych sing the Ukraine national anthem and want to remind people, who haven't watched her to do so and for those who have to share her story with as many people as we can to put more good energy behind her. Thank you David for sharing these wonderful stories.

They don't, really, they have to be trained. Most dog breeds can be trained to use their sense of smell to detect chemical explosives though some are better at it than others, the same technique is used at most (I think all?) major airports to search for explosives. If a dog breed can be trained as a hunting dog then it can be trained for EOD duties as well.
