If you want the same experience in WOT just press "V" and try to play just one map. From Ukrainian point of view -> good position firing at visible target - results are enemy vehicle damaged From Russian point of view -> the tank hiding behind civilian house can't be seen from the road - results damage to the civilian structure

For those wondering why the tank only seemed to hit one of the shots, consider the tanks pov with it's cover and clear line of fire. It might be an inexperienced gunner sure, but it also looks like they aren't given much reaction time from their angle. It's really easy to see what's going on from this drone view from our perspective, but I think the tank can only see between that red building and whatever is to the right of it preventing them from leading a shot well.

They were pretty close range for a tank. The aim on those tanks are offset at close range. Makes it harder to aim accurately.

Could be he saw nothing at all and was aiming at wall using overhead drone. The footage we saw is what they saw with their drone and it has a latency delay and poor information about vertical angle but with it they could time (approximately) when to shoot at a spot on the wall provided that they practice it first.

It can be discovered after being shot by that experienced soldier. It's the smoke that rises after firing and the point opposite the detonation has the midpoint of the target being fired!

@@khaisangdantri7314 Our tank went up on its own, it was dug into the ground, concrete blocks sprinkled with earth were installed in front of it, the tank in this ambush served as a barrier for the end of the column (so they could not escape, so the artillery hit the tail of the column) and in the title did not lie, this column did not leave the village, we destroyed it NLAW and RPG in 40 minutes of battle .. 5-7 cars escaped from the column

Its not the tank's camo. The two story building and the pink one next to it is hiding its position. And being buttoned-up inside of a vehicle provides limited visibility. Its not advisable to roll down a hostile street with the tank commander observing outside the hatch in a hostile environment. If they were, Im pretty sure someone would have spotted the tank, but then thats running the risk of eating a bullet. On top of that, tanks are loud no matter what. If you didnt notice, the Ukrainian tank has no exhaust fumes. This means they were sitting cold with their engine off. It provides two benefits: No audible signature and less of a chance to get spotted by thermals if anyone is using them.

I'm almost certain that tank wasn't alone. Still impressive all the same

Well, this is tank against armored personnel carriers. The tank has a gun that easily goes through BTM armor. The BTMs have guns that can't do much against tank armor. The armor on APCs is a very different story than the armor on a tank. As are the guns. This is not a tank battle. But perhaps a goo example that tanks might not be completely useless yet.

@@Yora21 30mm on Ukrainian-made BTR-4 did observed to be able to penetrate T-27B3, from the side at least. But since they didnt know the exact location of the said tank, all they can do is some suppressing fire.

@@Yora21 They aren't completely useless. Tanks are a single element in a ground war. Russia's use of tanks has been consistently horrible; their misapplication of armor and their refusal to send them in with appropriate tertiary units only highlights Russia's far, FAR outdated war doctrine. In WWII, a large army could get away with simply rolling in enough armor to overwhelm opposition. Today, it's a recipe for a quick death.

@@Yora21 Sustained fire from a cannon like that will penetrate most MBTs eventually, let alone 5 of those cannons... UKR tank couldn't move or they would be in trouble.

I dont think the BTR-82 are firing at infantry. I think they are just panick firing because they dont know where the ukranian tank is in the beginning

Exactly, what people do not realize from the games, that often you are shot at and you do not know where from, we have almost full picture, but soldiers down there do not. Even saw some French assault rifle attachment, which should analyze the sound of shots going towards you and show you the direction from where you are being shot at. COD players do not need this, but in real life guess many soldiers would really appreciate such a feature...

Why no videos all of the sudden?

One of the best combat footage to date!

love all the experts calling out bad aim for the gunner, thinking hitting targets IRL is as easy as it is in a video game. it's not. Gun and projectiles behave very differently. What people forget to consider: Line of sight of the gunner. Window of reaction. Order's of the Tank Commander, gunner can't just shoot freely unless given he command to do so. Making sure shots don't give away their position, consider enemie close and they can easily get surrounded. Aiming and Hitting enemie vehicle at a place that destroys/incapasitates it with the limited window of reaction the gunner has when given the order to fire. And who knows where all the shots exactly were aimed at. Maybe some of those missed shots were aimed on purpose, aiming for suspected enemie infantry position or whatnot.

If you are missing shots while stationary, firing at vehicles moving maybe 10mph or less from 100 meters away there is an issue somewhere. If something isnt calibrated correctly thats the fault of the crew. If the TC and gunner cant work together to hit targets thats the fault of the crew. If the tank is in a position where they cant react in time to hit their intended target, thats the fault of the crew. Also your idea of not being permitted to fire until given the order to do so is false, mostly. For initiating contact yes. After you have fired your weapon and hit a target the enemy knows you are there. Why would someome wait for their TC to tell them to fire as they watch the enemy fire on friendly units? And finally, they were firing at IFVs. Any round they fire at it will destroy the vehicle, minus Sabot which could go straight through the rear half and out the other side leaving the vehicles operators able to return fire.

Thank you for your absolutely professional wisdom of real warfare, as a veteran of several wars killing million bazillion grazillion trazillion enemy soldiers you know exactly what you are talking about and for sure you took everything in to consideration..............the gunner missed a ton of shots anyway......thats a fact. No critsism or anything, just a fact. I know on my part how it is, i served several years in the army and i know whats possible and what's not in a combat situation. @chaos emerald is absolutely correct. The first shot that initiates the ambush is by command, every other shot is fire by will until the tank commander gives order to hold fire, especially in an ambush situation when you have to destroy your targets as fast as you can before getting destroyed by the enemy.

@@blackspace473 theres a thing with metal, that makes it weaker every time it gets hit, and btrs 82 cannon shoots ~300 rounds/minute, also, try putting a metal pot on your head then ask someone to hit it REALY fast and REALY hard, tanks are not remotely controled, there are humans inside, doesnt matter with what the tank is getting hit it will cause some sort of damage, maybe not immobilize it or destroy, but optics and other important things will get destroyed. Tank without optics during such ambush as in the video is almost useless.

My grandmom and aunties live in Stariy Bikyv - a village next to Basan some 8 km to the east. They told that Russians were forced to run all the way to them and further east under constant pressure and artillery fire. And that our guys hit ammo truck near the bridge over Supii and now shells are scattered all over the village...

Expertly executed ambush, the tanks was perfectly covered out of the sight of the retreating russians. Too bad they missed the second IFV. Nice clean hit on the first one though.

@@tellyboy17 the btrs had a tank with them as well, and russian infantry, which are in the btrs carry rpgs. And the btr is perfectly capable of destroying the engine or fucking up the track

@@Tonyx.yt. he asked why didn't the tank drive up to the collum, you're right it would be hard to hit the engine or track from where the tank was, that is no longer true if the ukrainian tank charges the convoy. Several btrs would be able to circle the tank and shoot it in the rear, also the infantry inside the vehicles would have plentiful side and rear shots with rpgs, and the russians also had a tank. I was just answering his question as to why the Ukrainians didn't drive closer to the convoy.

How surreal. Never in Human history have we been able to view War like this. Its almost like we are spectating the conflict as if it were a video game. Fascinating but sobering.

I were on the scene on 5th of April. From the ground it looks completly different - buildings and some rough terrain pretty reduce visibility for both sides. On the 1st of April I saw that cloud of smoke from distance about 15 km.

Moving target, possibly very minimal/fast target visiblity (one round looks like it goes through a buildering/rubble before hitting) and the fact that things are a hell of lot messier in real life then in a game or movie. Might be this crews first time in combat like this, who knows.

Real life accurate shooting of any weapon capable of doing so is always much harder than it may appear. So many variables. It's why you train hard and maybe when the time comes you will be half as effective as you are in training.

Ukrainian tank crew use their balls of steel as an armor. Can't penetrate with BTR gun.

That tank commander is deadly. Perfect position. With cover for its low armor parts. Poor Russian soldiers and vehicles never had a chance. A tank defending on a fortified position is a terrifying prospect for a forward division

Well a MBT against IFV is a good idea, so long as they dont have mounted Anti-Tank rockets. The tank knew the terrain, the russians hat to flee, hat to use the streets and they didnt know whats happening. Even when the Ukraine had lost the tank, the possible effort was worth it. Every destroyed IFV causes 5-10 russian soldiers.

I find the systematical editing in these kind of videos extremely irritating, specially since its meant for clear manipulation purposes. These guys probably have a lot of footage of russian troops crushing ukranians, probably even in the unedited version of the videos they publish, but we might never be able to see them

This channel actually doing pretty unbiased editing, how ever there is much more videos of ukrainians then russians.

I hope that in the future there will be data on how this tank, or at least the crew of the tank left unscathed from that battlefield.

Very difficult to hit to hit a moving target that is crossing the field of view instead of moving toward or away from the tank in the same axial plane. The Ukrainian tank shells were close but missed the mark, the timing was just milliseconds too slow. The 30mm gun was more effective, easier to aim and shoot on the fly.

Bro what do you mean, the T-72 or T-64 both have fire ctrl systems good enought to hit moving targets, esoecialy at that speed and range, plus the dude missed with 2-3 degrees. Ukrainian gunners are just more inexperienced than hell, i bet my head id hit that even though ive been in a tank only 2 times before

@@flanfre_skarlett There are a lots of Ukrainian tank crews that just barely learned how to operate a tank. A lot of guys just enlisted into in Ukrainian Armed Forces. It might have been their first fight. It's easy to say that for you just chilling on a couch. I'd like to see how you would react when you have a long ass BRT-82 column coming at you.

@@sofloemir maybe , maybe not , i cannot comment on what i cannot see. Theyre definitely doing better than i expected and open source equipment loss sites paint a significant loss of equipment for Russia. I do however know Ukraine had significant mechanized forces before the war and we havent seen or heard too much about them , there could be 2 reasons, 1 they are destroyed, 2 they dont want to broadcast there position and movement potentially giving away information of potential counter attacks being prepared in certain areas. I dunno the fog of war is thick.

The best survival strategy for a resident of Ukraine now is to put up a tent next to the gas pipeline and live in it. They will destroy cities, destroy equipment, but no one will touch the gas pipeline, dollars must flow continuously.

Love the perspective drones give. You can see the Ukrainian tank perfectly positioned. He has cover and concealment from both flanks and you wouldn't even spot the tank until you're in its killzone. Too bad that the tank was missing his shots but there is definitely some competent leadership on the Ukrainian side that placed him there. Just goes to show why the defender has the advantage. This war is gonna end up being one of the most humiliating defeats in the history of warfare.

1st shot was too high and we see it impact the hillside, 3rd shot also looked like it was high but we don't see it impact anywhere. 2nd shot however was dead on the BTR's turret. You can see the shell impact the building between them, continue through and hit some more debris before knocking out the target with a puff of white smoke. Subsequent video imagery shows the target burning up so we know it was a kill shot
