Ukraine says situation worsening in Kharkiv | BBC News
Ukraine says there is heavy fighting taking place in Kharkiv, as Russia intensifies its attacks on the region.
This follows Friday's surprise incursions across the border, seizing at least nine villages and settlements in one of the most significant ground attacks since its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022.
Thousands of civilians have fled towards Kharkiv, and there are concerns among Ukrainian commanders about what could happen if Russian forces get within artillery range of the city.
Kharkiv regional head Oleh Syniehubov said Russia was deliberately trying to stretch the front line by attacking in small groups in new directions.

Putin was never interested in negotiating anything, he wants Ukraine for his "new Russian empire" and is willing to sacrifice millions of Russian lives to take it. This was never about "poor Russian speaking people" in the Donbas, it was always about Russia expanding its empire. If Ukraine had surrendered in 2022, Russia would probably have taken Moldova, and be fighting NATO in the Baltics at this point.

Russian army in Ukraine was only 190 000 at the beginning of the war. They definitely didn't intend to take Kiev or something of the kind. They wanted to force Zelenskyy to a negotiation table. Since then Russian aims changed. Russian army is getting stronger by the day, while Zelenskyy army is going down the drain. It's obvious that Kharkov can't be the main direction of Russian offensive, but the problem is that Zelenskyy nevertheless needs reserves to halt this offensive and hold the front elsewhere. Reserves that he has been lavishly wasting for months in his nutty PR media hype offensives and last stands. Reserves that are no longer there. Russians know it.

They marveled that the brave and plucky Ukrainians fought a neighboring nuclear so-called "Superpower" and nuclear power, which is 30 times bigger than it, with a military that dwarves Ukraine, which doesn't even have a Navy and barely an airforce, to a standstill. The traitorous Kremlin-funded/backed GOP, at the behest of America's biggest traitor, Trump, has managed to block aid to Ukraine for over 6 months and they are very low on ammo, not much of a "win" for Russia when Ukraine is down to its last bullets. Russian troops storm the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Stelmakhovka area in the Kupyansky direction now.

Its due to most of the aid money being used to line the pockets of the Ukrainian leadership less and less is used for the front line and to pay the soldiers I wonder how many have body armour or get hospital treatment.
So absolutely sad and tragic to see those older people and villagers. Having to leave their humble homes. Meanwhile, the deluded madman resides in secure luxury at the presidential palace. Life is so unfair.

Not 19 year olds, 35-50 year olds for Ukraine. Their mobilization efforts have been a failure and they have resorted to kidnapping old men off the street. The young have been spared and they are going after the middle aged. The Russian professional military has been devastated as well, most of those on both sides who fought during the initial outset of the war have been killed. But the Russians can keep funneling men in and they are changing tactics and learning. Eventually they will win this war
Nazism exists in Ukraine since decades. I remember being abused in Kiev and Odessa in early 90s for speaking Russian. This country shall not exist as a separate state. Some nations are simply not enough mature for that.
