@@travellingshoes5241 100% yes (after covid lockdowns) Easter Weekend til September theres a lot of outdoor raves. During Winter and early Spring the rigs play in Warehouses instead. However warehouse raves also happen during good warm weather especially in London. I went to the London Multirig NYE Link Up early 2000s, one of my first free parties. It blew my fucking mind, must've been 12-20 different rigs playing different genres and a big link up upstairs with lasers. Ppl just shouting a list of all the dif drugs they had for sale in the stairwell. I saw couple police turn up like 9am, the door ppl told them to fuck off basically as squatters rights was in effect. I estimate 2000-3000 ppl attended. Unlike outdoor parties tho warehouse parties will often have security who're attached to some of the rigs charging like 10 or 20 quid at the door. The cash goes to buying more expensive huge bassbins etc (massive VOID rig is VERY expensive but sounds unbelievable, no sound level restrictions either), or to paying fines to reclaim rigs that police seize on the way out sometimes. Once you get a decent crowd in front of the rig the police will usually not step in. Riots have happened before when they tried eg Scumoween in central London near Big Ben and House of Commons etc and in Norwich Brainskan rig. There's a sick vid of one UK Tek in Wales I think where police in riot gear are lined up and the MC is calling out "protect the generator! no violence but surround the generator! they can't take this vibe away" or something. Lots of crazy free party stories. Theres 1 brief clip on youtube of a rig (wall of speakers falling on top of the ppl moshing too hard.

Cd is fine as long as it is burn off 16bit waves . I probably wouldn't bother bringing out my best records of its an outside party. Plus u can download brand new tunes within hours of being at the party meaning it's a nice fresh sound ready to test

Professional sound engineers laugh at people who organise these events because most of them have pick and mix style sound systems and don't seem to know anything about good sound quality, clarity and the pitfalls of comb filtering.

DJ Teknovibe yes you are right, however because it is a stack of speakers I wouldn’t bother panning and running it stereo because people don’t actually care when they’re at a rave and people can’t even tell the difference between mono or stereo when they have their head in front of a bass bin. I agree for actual festivals and live events where there is a paying audience you would set up the pa and rigging a totally different way, ie make it stereo and pan the shit out of it, make sure the dispersion covers the right areas and such. But yeh organisers of these raves need to set up as quick as possible to ensure that the party doesn’t get shut down, plus ravers don’t actually care how it’s set up as long as it’s pumping. :)
