Well my initial Mod 2 got cancelled and I took it today...passed 👍 3 minors. Video helped at lot, did take exactly same route but he did pull me over behind exactly the same car for pulling off at an angle 🤣

A tip I heard about Basildon - if you turn left out the test centre you won't get a hill start but if you turn right you will.

I realised just after I stopped, luckily I don't think the examiner noticed! Annoyingly I only had to pull over because the examiner got stuck at the roundabout... Where I live we have London buses where the bus stops are much more obvious.

Well done bro. I failed for doing what you did on 7:58 in Enfield. Rebooked for Basildon in just under 2 weeks hopefully I get a bit more luck 🍀

What did the examiner say? Personally I think that fault was rubbish, the car on the right hadn't even entered the roundabout and didn't have to slow down at all. Good luck for the next one.

@@Aaron-rr1gs just that I should of gave way regardless. It went on for 10 minutes back and fourth haha. But overall already behind me. Wasn’t any other issues so just looking forward until the next one. I’ve seen your route. Do you know if that is a common route at Basildon?

@@jackpimpson From what I've seen it's actually quite uncommon to go further south into town. Most of the routes take you north towards Billericary and Wickford like in the video. Apparently if you turn left out of the test centre you won't get a hill start but if you turn right you will. It's a pretty easy test centre, just make sure you're confident with larger roundabouts and watch out for the odd bus lane.

I can’t wait to do the module 2 but at the pace I’m going, it might be not this year. 🙄 My module 1 test has been cancelled twice. First on Monday due to examiners calling sick. Second time today Wednesday due to ice on the surface. Anyone watching this Chanel who are also training in this area, please leave a comment if anyone have ever had their test cancelled? 🤨 who could believe it. My friends and family won’t believe me. They’ll think I failed and I’m hiding it. 😂

They must have changed the pulling away from a parked position since you did it as I see you checked both mirrors, right shoulder check and went. As I’ve been told to check right mirror, then left shoulder check and then right shoulder check and if safe to do so indicate and pull away.

Well done, got my mod 1 end of July there & mod 2 not sure when as the school hasn’t given a date which will be after mod 1..don’t want to be doing an autumn mod 2 though as I wanted to get on the road during august.. what time of the day was this? Any tips?

I can't remember the exact time, roughly 11:30 on a weekday I think. Biggest tip is just to relax and make sure your observations are up to scratch. Good luck.

@@Aaron-rr1gs passed my Mod1, had Steve on the day at Basildon. Got my Mod2 first week in September. Also booked in Mod2 extra day two days before the test, do you think it’s worth it at £200? I’ve spent a chunk already, thought going a tad extra would only help as I don’t have a bike and it’s almost 5 weeks before I get on the bike, hopefully it will help get the feel of the bike before the test… your thoughts?

@@everyjourneymatters286 If it’s been a while it will probably help to get back into the swing of things. I picked it up quite quickly but I had a lot of experience on a 125 so it all depends how confident you’re feeling. Good luck.

Well done for passing (10 months go) I've got my mod 2 here very early on Wednesday morning. Is the route generally the same regardless of going left or right from the test centre? Also, the side roads you were going down you were doing about 20-23mph.....are they 20mph roads? I'm good with hill stops cos I live near a few hills and always stopping on my 125 in traffic. What was your independ riding like? It was a very short test and hoping mine will be the same! 🤞🤞🤞

Did you pass ? I went out of the test centre and straight over to Wickford and had most of my test there. I didn't go on any 20mph roads.

@@stewartnorton6386 no I didn't. I failed on a roundabout. Total mess up on my part.....was in the wrong lane and instead of going round I decided to come over and done my check too late and the guy failed me as my wheel was over the line. Stupid mistake cost me my full licence (at the end of my test) but I'll do it again after the 10 days and fingers crossed I pass this time.

No as they are broken, you are allowed to use them if necessary. If you watch my mirror you'll notice that the examiner does the same.

The bike was provided by the training school. You have to sign a declaration at the start of the test to say that the bike is insured.

The test routes are not published unfortunately. You can only find out by watching videos of other people doing them. To be honest it’s not much benefit trying to learn them.

@@Aaron-rr1gs I was hoping someone may be able to guide me to a link as this is the only Basildon one i have found , someone in the comments mentioned the there was 3 routes in total . It would be nice to check the routes out for speed changes ,because my trainer took me on a route that went up to Ramsden bell house and he pointed out a sneaky 20 school zone sign straight after a right hand bend immediately after coming up the hill after the fox and hounds. Its was a real sneaky sign real hidden by bushes , so i think i need to check all the routes out asap and look for more of these hidden gems, thanks Levi

@@levibailey4907 This is the only footage of Basildon test centre on KZread as far as I can tell. There are probably more than 3 routes but I'm not an examiner so I can't tell you. Speed limit changes are probably the biggest thing to look out for if you're on unfamiliar roads. The best advice I can give is to keep your eyes up and try to spot the signs. If you're unsure then try and go by the speed of other traffic. If you're speeding the examiner will tend to drop back a bit or if you're going to slow the examiner might come a bit closer to you but it's not the most reliable trick.

How come you didn't get a rap on the wrist for going over those chevrons just at/near end?🤔

They’re bordered by broken white lines so perfectly legal to do so. If you look in my mirrors you can actually see the examiner do the same.

You can book the tests on the Gov website or a training school can do it for you.

At 11:16 when you took a left into a housing area, how did you know that it was 20 zone?

It’s a 30mph zone but a lower speed can be appropriate due to the narrow road and parked cars.

Was the examiner on a scooter behind you? 1:37 you were suppose to go over the speed bumps....not in the middle

The examiner was on a bike. You can go in between the speed bumps as long as it’s safe to do so.

What are you thinking it is? I didn't see any signs indicating a speed limit in place other than street lights which would mean unless signage its a 30mph limit which he did.
