UK inflation falls but still among highest of major economies

Inflation has eased more than expected, falling to 7.9%.
That's led to predictions that interest rates may not go up as much as feared.
(Subscribe: bit.ly/C4_News_Subscribe)
The markets now expect them to peak no higher than 6% by end of the year - still an eye watering increase on a year or so ago.
The fall in inflation was driven by a sharp drop in the price of fuel. Food prices are still rising, but at a slower pace.

Inflation hits people a lot harder than a crashing stock or housing market as it directly affects people's cost of living that people immediately feel the impact of. It's not surprising negative market sentiment is so high now. We really need help to survive in this Economy.

You may not have noticed inflation in years past, But 8%+ inflation over the past year should've taught you that the cost of living increases every year (home prices, rent, groceries, plane tickets, home repairs, etc.) Only way to beat inflation is by investing your money...

The worst part about this recession is that consumers are racking up credit card debt. In April alone, credit card debt went up 20% while rates have doubled in a year. Inflation is so high that consumers are literally taking debt for basic life necessities. Collapse is near..

Inflation is gradually going to become part of us and due to that fact any money you keep in cash or in a low-interest account declines in value each year. Investing is the only way to make your money grow and unless you have an exceptionally high income, investing is the only way most people will ever have enough money to retire..

The market will always recover. The goal is to find quality stocks with long term potential. It's hard for the average Joe to do this, because it involves following a lot of industry news, following up with earnings, etc. It's easier to invest through an advisor who knows how stuff works, and make rocket returns.

Investing in quality stocks with long-term potential is a good strategy, but it can be challenging for the average person to do this on their own. Education and birth control are key to reducing poverty and hunger. Having a child that you can not provide for yourself is cruel and irresponsible. Population needs to be in balance with jobs, resources, nature and the environment. Having a bigger population in any country than the country can support makes no sense. Access to food, water, shelter, energy and jobs should guide population levels. The worlds population is still expected to add another billion people to feed, clothe and produce pollution. Humans are crowding out all other species of plants and animals. We need solutions not just sympathy. Endless population growth is not sustainable on a finite planet. Every country needs to "TRY" to be more self sufficient. When there are not enough resources to sustain a population something has to give. Countries need to focus on quality of life for their citizens and not just quantity of life for cheap labor. Why import fossil fuels when wind and solar energy can be produced locally and solar energy can power electric vehicles. We need solutions not just sympathy.

What is the UK's relationship with them? - What country is the number 1 exporter of wheat? What is the UK's relationship with them? - Who are the top 3 countries producing oil in the world? What is the UK's relationship with them? - Is oil used in farming? And is there now less oil on the global market? Also is that oil now more expensive? B - Heat related crop failures in Europe: - Are there any EU countries trying to stop the sale of Ukrainian grain in Europe? - Did the number 1 producer of wheat partially ban their own grain exports at the start of the war? Why did they do that and what effect would that have on global food prices?
