43:57; That is perhaps my favorite "Sachs-ism" during the entire series history.

I think Phil knew he had to really put in the performance of a lifetime on the Eliminator if he was going to beat Deane and indeed he did setting a new course record in the process. This must have given Phil a lot of confidence going into the final because he must have been thinking if I can beat Deane on the Eliminator I can beat anyone.

At 43:53 it looks like Phil Norman is using his hands on the Balance-Beam to steady himself which surely is not allowed in my opinion, still I can't complain Phil Norman was good overall.

Surely the greatest eliminator of all time? Remember watching it on itv aged 8 buzzing when Phil won 😂

Damn that Male Eliminator had to be one of the most nail biting ones so far, both Dean and Phil were by far the best two left on the male side of things. Shame they weren't split in the semis. They flew through the Eliminator while most are half dead by the end. Phil really was probably the best competitor In Gladiator UK, I haven't watched this in 20 years and my brother and I always remembered him cause he also won Winner's Episode (when past winners faced each other) as well I think. You can also see the major step up of the male competitors from series 1 to series 2, it's definitely a higher standard. I don't know who won the female final, but it would be funny if the stand in won the whole thing. Loved Pauline, talking about boozing and smoking her way through the whole thing while the commentator had to apologise every time lol.

It was Jean who won the final. Ironic seeing as she was the sub after Lisa Thompson had to retire.

This was by far the most thrilling men's competition the show has ever had. They are neck in neck in points all throughout and on Duel Phil realizes he needs a headstart. And he takes a savage beating to pick up 5 points. And then once again he raised his game to beat Deane on the Eliminator. That's why he became champion. Always had another gear in him.

I always think that Deane Hart should've come back for International Gladiators, along with maybe Gary Towers and Richard "the Iron Man of darwen" from the first episode of the second series!!!!!! Seems familiar Gary Towers ended up becoming a trainer for Gladiators after the second series, though???? Deane could've probably beaten Wesley Berry on the Eliminator, I think!!!!

39:27 I think that Paula's brother is Simon Bisley, the comic book artist, 41:14 And I think that his other sister, Eunice Huthart, won series 3 and became a Gladiator.

Never noticed this before, but Phil (in blue) puts his foot down on the beam and so should have started again. Dean should have won!!! He was robbed! How did Jon Anderson not see it!

Unfortunately John was watching Deano lose balance at the time and didn't notice. However, I think with the extra second to start again Phil would of still got it (assuming he didn't fall a 2nd time from the start). Tough call, great contest.

He was well known for comic relief on the show, he was responsible for a bit of humour to outnumber the competitiveness of both some contenders and gladiators on the show.

That was a draw. Scorpio did lose at least once in Season 1 and she lost a few times in Season 2, John Sachs liked to exaggerate Gladiator's records on events.

Paula was her own worst enemy. Very good in the games, but her lifestyle came to haunt her on the Elimimator. She had horrible stamina, even against 36-year old Jean.

Remember she just came back from an unfortunate cheekbone fracture after colliding with another contender in Powerball earlier on during this series, she DID get better though until she dropped out of the show due to another dangerous neck injury during training for 'Pole-Axe'.

Phil should have been disqualified from Duel. It was all defence.

The unwritten rule in Gladiators was that anyone who could last 30 seconds in Duel against Shadow, all defence or not, deserved 5 points!!!!
