That’s weird considering that the U.K. Doesn’t have an electoral voting system like in the U.S. (that I know of) when it comes to national elections it’s direct popular voting so his party should have won the majority in the House of Commons but maybe the reason is because his party wasn’t counted in favorably in the other boroughs(districts) and that’s why his party didn’t get the majority of seats in the House of Commons and he lost the bid to the prime ministership.

Johnson won his last election with 43.6% of the popular vote, while Corbyn lost it with a 32.1%, on a voter a 67.3% turnout of the electorate. Starmer’s Labour have won the 2024 election with 34% of the popular vote on an estimated voter turnout of 60%, the lowest turnout since 2001. There’s been no great shift left and things will change little, because the global economy dictates the limits of what any government can do and the UK’s monumental civil service, will dictate the rest…Keep Calm and Carry On. You’ll hardly notice the difference.

It’s neither tax hikes nor spending cuts rather it’s the opposite: tax cuts and spending increases. You have stimulate the economy and that can only be done through more spending: consumer, business, and government. The Labor Party needs to tie personal tax cuts/rebates to consumer spending and business tax cuts to job creation and business expansion. The Bank of England needs to cut interest rates. The new government needs to spend more on healthcare, infrastructure, and education. They also need need repatriate all that money that’s offshore by taxing it and breaking up all those overseas trusts in the Cayman Islands, Bermuda, the Isle of Man, and elsewhere. The pound needs to be devalued so that British goods can exported more cheaply. They also need to stop deporting immigrants with skilled labor. They need more immigrants from Ghana, Nigeria, Kenya, and other parts of Africa and the Caribbean not less. The Afro-British are the most educated, affluent, and loyal segment of Britons there are.
