I don't think it's fair for the police personnel on the street to get full blame for the situation. The problem is at the top of the totem pole. The guidance for the police to follow is, at best, vague, at worse, total compliance to the whims of these protesters. The powers that the police have is not clear enough, and when they do respond with some force, they are denigrated. There is also the clear issue of 2 tier policing. EVERYBODY should be given equal rights . That is not happening. If these protesters were dealt with, in more force at the start, they wouldn't be taking the absolute pi** now. This weekend is going to be interesting. I just hope that appropriate responsibility is given to any true offenders. No favor, no gain.
