We could have a new Prime Minister 'by the end of May' | LBC analysis
Conservative MP and former health minister Dan Poulter has announced his defection to Labour.
Mr Poulter also labelled the Conservatives a "nationalist party of the right".
The defection was confirmed by Labour leader Sir Kier Starmer and MP Wes Streeting.
Taking to Twitter, the Labour leader wrote: "It’s fantastic to welcome Dr Dan Poulter MP to today’s changed Labour Party.
"It’s time to end the Conservative chaos, turn the page, and get Britain’s future back. I’m really pleased that Dan has decided to join us on this journey."

It’s really shocking and sobering to see the undermining of democracy and freedom of speech. Those who really do hold the powerful to account are encouraged to step down. Why no one is talking about Liz Truss, her mini budget caused instability in UK economy and it's continuing. But every one want to blame Rishi not Liz😂
Just remember this. Since 1979 the tories have had power for 33 years out of 45. Since 1945 tories have been in power for 53 years out of 79. They have had the vast majority of power. Every time they are in power working people suffer. There are always major industrial strike action. But yet labour get the blame. We have little or no industry. All of our major companies have been sold and are ripping us all off. And it mostly only helps major shareholders and guess who they are. The tories need to be gone permanently or at least a generation to teach these historical rich institutions a lesson in democracy. That democracy is meant to serve everybody not just the rich. Vote the tories out.
