“They are doing” 😂 I love this and it’s all we can ask for at the moment. Your strawbs will keep coming back, they’re usually at their best for 3/4 years and then you may want to consider replacing them. You can move them too. Courgettes and tomatoes will die off in autumn and you can sow next year 🍓🍅 Thank you for the lovely cheery video 🥰

Thanks for another brilliant video. That was super interesting, lots is going well and growing nicely. I really understand the urge for more flowers, theyre like the food for the eyes while being at the plot. Marigolds were what started it for me as quite cheap and easy to sow from seed. All to look forward to in future. I really hope youre well and enjoying life. All the best

It's all the rain bringing them out for sure. They're so annoying. I'm blessed that so far, I haven't had a bad attack, but I know so many other gardeners have struggled this year. Have a fantastic week, my friend. ¡

Strawberries are putting put runners like crazy during the season. First year it is recommended to just cut them, as they take energy from the small new plant. The first season, they establish and grow roots. Next year you will have more berries per plant, even more in year three. Many dig up strawberries after year four, as they put out fewer berries after their year three and four peak. If you put the runners in soil in year two and three, you will have established plants for when you dig put the first. If you get overrun with plants and berries next year, dig out a few and sell/gift them. Most people lov strawberries 💕🍓🍓🍓

What a great comment. I'll be sure to see if we get to 3 years with them, and I'll take the runners and replant them (probably outside), although they seem to be doing very well inside. Hopefully we will be able to make lots of jam this year and then gift some plants next year or the year after! Thanks for watching! ♡

Courgette produce male and female flowers. The female flowers have an embryonic baby courgette at the base of the flower, and male flowers are just on a long stem. The male flowers need to pollinate the female flowers before the baby courgette will grow. If it doesn't get pollinated the baby courgette will not grow and will yellow and die off. Yòu can hand pollinate, plenty of how-to videos online. Good luck 👍 😊

Wow, that's so interesting! There were definitely two flowers on that courgette plant and a baby on the way, so they've definitely done the deed 🫢 that's a really cool bit of information. Thank you! ♡

The female starts out looking like a baby courgette about the size of the one you saw.. You need pollinators to fly in each flower or hand pollinate.

When you first said you were growing courgettes i didn't know what you were talking about but then i looked it up. Here in Ontario canada they are called zucchini plants and are a member of the squash family. They are very easy to grow and your garden will be over run with them soon. I usually pick mine when they are about 6 to 8 inches long. Love your videos and sense of humour.

Hey YS, Strawbs keep coming every year and make babies in autumn. They're not fragile and can easily be moved around if you plan a bed outside. Toms, courgettes are sown every year. Look up companion planting if you're interested in making best use of the ground. Potatoes are great at breaking up soil and making it more useful for the next growing season, they do the work for you. So any tough or compacted ground fill with potatoes and next season will be better. Have fun!

PS If using the potato method I suggested look for Determinate varieties as they don't need earthing up, just plant and leave alone.

I’ve had all my strawberries eaten by the slugs and I even put straw down as they supposedly don’t like crawling over it! Also, your courgettes are doing amazing, every flower that you get you’ll have a courgette, just remember to pick them when they’re small or you’ll end up with massive marrows. You’ll be giving them away by the end of the season.

Thanks for another great vlog. I admire your respect for wildlife , even rats. They can be a pest though. Apparently they have a strong sense of smell. A pest control officer told me they do not like the smell of WD40 or sage. So if they start to be a pest soak a rag in WD40 and place near vulnerable plants or their nest hole. Same with sage. It should actually as a deterrent that is not terminal to them . I haven't tried this on my plot so can't say if these suggestions work. Thanks again for posting..
