It is butter. Have you not seen the durability on gold pickaxe? A wood pickaxe can break almost 2x blocks as gold pickaxe. Gold pickaxes need buff.

Yeah. I get the whole "butter mines fast but is low durability" niche, but it's still wayyy too low. Ooh...what if, to go with the whole "gold is more enchantable" thing, gold tools with unbreaking lasted much longer? E.g., instead of unbreaking I/II/III making the durability approximately 2×/3×/4× higher, it was like 8×/27×/64× (cubed)? That would make an unbreaking III gold tool last around 2000 uses, comparable to an unenchanted diamond tool

Many of those don't include a 3 in a row so the actual number is even less. Wikipedia says there are 138 terminal board positions when ignoring rotations and reflections and assuming x goes first. Removing the 3 draws and multiplying by 16 to account for the assumptions (4 rotations * 2 reflection * 2 for o going first) made by that number yields "only" 2160 necessary recipes.

Ha! Math Nerrrrrd. However even more importantly, Minecraft recipes are actually not strictly based on a predefined set of items. It is possible to write a custom recipe type which just looks for the winning condition of 3 in a row and supplies an output based on the winner, if a win is found. This means we should only need to look for a total of 8 different possible combinations of the same item (3+3+2 for x, y, and diagonal) and finally a 9th possibility being either x or o. Since we don’t care about which piece won until we determine there’s actually a winner, we can ignore piece type checking until the end.

Crafting is already automagically agnostic towards position and mirroring within the grid, so all that needs doing outside that is making sure that extraneous X's and O's are formulated as optional in the recipe.

On my first world, wich I think was TU 12 tutorial on 360, I eventually had a base spanning several tall jungle tree tops. If you can't build because of terrain, build above it. Or dig under it. That was my mindset for future basing and I liked hownit was actually kinda beneficial to base so high up. Creepers aren't gonna drop into your base if there's no higher dark area for them to spawn. So you can probably guess which mob I agree with being on this list.

With the Crafting Top, you actually have to place it on top of a wood plank, then, with its limited 10 uses, craft the tools, make another Crafting Top, then combine them all into the infinite use Crafting Table. Then you can use the first Crafting Top to make another Crafting Table to share with your friends. Kind of a more complex process, as is a lot of Minecraft early game, but hopefully it doesn't dissuade you from trying out more of the game. It gets really fun once you get past the initial learning curve!

OMG YES A modpack where you need to acquire 'everything' in order to surpass your human limitations. Basically, you start your world and have a hitbox per body piece, limited hearts per piece (and overall), limited hunger and thirst, and can only hold 1 item per hand. Don't have a recipe book, and can't sprint forever (stamina). Also can't jump the same height for forever. Like... it gets lower and lower the more you jump, but it depends on how fast the consecutive jumps are from one another and how many you have done. One would also not be able to use any type of commands at all whatsoever (not even the /help since that one would count as one). You'd need to sleep in order to maintain your stamina at a max+slight surplus (you could basically decide for about 'how long' you'd sleep for. The default amount wouldn't give you any extra stamina, but sleeping slightly more would reward you with a bit more max stamina per day, but the reward gets lower and lower until you reach the max amount that you can earn from just sleeping a bit more. Ok, so done with the realistic part (there is more that you, the reader to this comment, can definitely add to the realism of this hypothetical modpack, though). Now onto the challenge. Basically, it's MC and you'd still be living in a fantasy world anyway. You'd just start off as a regular-ass human with all our goofy-ah weaknesses (even moving slower depending on the weight of what you have on you). Basically, the modpack would allow one to: Unlock personal inventory (both the hotbar and the rest of it). Unlock recipe book. Unlock accessories Be able to hold an item with extra inventory (pretty sure the modpack would include backpacks and whatnot). Unlock extra hunger bar. Unlock extra hearts per piece and later on have it all merge to one health bar (like vanilla MC). Unlock commands Nether and End would obviously not be removed since it's the player that would basically be affected by this. Not the world. (Well, unless you download mods to make the world itself realistic af as well and disable other dimensions and other wacky MC stuff like floating blocks and modify its physics.). Basically, the player would be able to eventually become a regular MC player with the extra ability to be able to use cheats (unless you don't want to become too OP and so you remove that mod in particular). Also, a sort of "JEI" mod would need to be added that would work similar to the recipe book where you unlock new recipes as long as you have obtained a derivative item of another one. Omg I forgot to also mention that the experience would also need an overhaul and you'd unlock the ability to lvl up your different skills (you wouldn't be able to lvl up anything in the beginning until you unlock the ability to do so. You'd pretty much be able to mine up to stone and stay there until you unlock the ability to mine other shit. Last time I checked, we don't automatically know how to mine shit lmao). So, yeah. It would become pretty- Oh, and at the beginning you'd be limited to only one life until you get the ability to keep coming back to life. It is what it is. Anyway, as I was saying, it would become pretty hardcore for casual players, but those that want to experience vanilla MC with a touch of realism and higher challenge with sorta high risk high reward, would be able to. Anyway, I'll probably see what I can find so see if I can sorta make this possible for myself. And I think I'm not the only one who has ever thought of such a thing since there is a "Literally Real Life" modpack in Curseforge. Lololol If you've read thus far, thanks for reading my rambling about a hypothetical.

That winged creeper is actually from Hermitcraft. Somebody took a screenshot from Grian's video where they trolled Hermits with this custom creeper model (which is a carved pumpkin, so it's wore on the head). Take an invis potion, equip this creeper model, equip Elytra, and you can sore around as a creeper with wings :D
