It always baffles me why people would ruin the clothes when they could donate them to a homeless or domestic violence shelter. 😢

i guess they're told to by a manager so no one tries to refund things in the trash. isn't in the worker's personal job to donate it i guess

It all depends on the corporate rules. From my experience with different retailers, Target is great when it comes to donating and recycling. Others put everything in a compactor. State laws play a part, too.

We’ve only found clothes once at an Old Navy and while I was grabbing them out of the dumpster, a girl came pulled up on her cell phone and stared at me while I stuffed them in the van. She then followed us to each other dumpster we checked in the shopping center. We are pretty sure an employee had told her the clothes were out there and then we took her stash 😂😂😂😂

When on site you aquire only! Sort at home. "The successful dumpster dive is the undetected dumpster dive." You don't want them to start locking their dumpster because they detect your activity. I've been diving for 40 years. I've lost good dumpsters to locks.

Speaking as someone who's been in skips etc myself I would advise you wearing some form of safety boots or trainers and thicker gloves but I'm glad you are doing this kind of thing. Recycle repurpose reuse I mean I think it would be ok if they just let people do this because it's been thrown away so ìts up for grabs.

Take both cabinets if you have room in your vehicle. I would turn them length wise up and down and bolt them on the wall in my garage for storage. Don't even worry about the legs. Get rid of some of the clutter on the floor that way.

Hi from New Zealand people, I love that you are hands on. It's broken, don't worry we can fix it. To bad it's a dying idea, we don't really have that much good stuff thrown away. Be safe, be good, be safe. Donate or bag up rags and sell them to people who will use them 😊. Make money out of what is supposed to be heading to the landfill. YOU CAN DO IT 🎉

I just returned some items to a Whole Foods location. That's where Amazon sent me for the items to be refunded and returned for free. Usually Amazon returns go through my local UPS store. The Boost was still good. Don't believe the "expiration dates" on items. Most items are still good for many months AFTER the supposed "expiration date". I've had Ensure after the expiration date and I'm still here alive and well! LoL! Sometimes you forget what's in your pantry or an item get pushed to the back and temporarily "lost".

I really don’t understand some stores philosophy. If you’re worried about people trying to return things, donate to habitat for humanity or some such organization, they generally will pick up. And food or clothing to shelters etc. and food to the food bank! Such a waste.

Definitely check back at Kirklands and see if the doors show up. If not, a one door cabinet looks fine. A employee has to be taking the clothes from Old Navy! They toss out tons of clothes! Even if their cut, quilters would love them. I think the zipper was broken on the pants from Old Navy. My sister has to wear a boot at all times on one of her legs. The bone is brittle from radiation treatments she had 45 years ago. A pair of socks last her twice as long! Lol People wear unmatched, like socks all the time. It’s sweet how Nicole thought of one of her patients. 🥰 Nice finds guys!

Funny how they won't give you the hangers with a purchase, but they throw all that plastics in the landfills instead? How does it make sense? Cutting up clothing when people everywhere need clothing. These companies would get a whole lot more business is people knew they donated unsellable items to homeless shelters or someone in need. Anything is better than this ridiculously wasteful option!

Retired now, but used to work in retail security UK, Staff used to put stock in dumsters and pick it up later, there were divers who used to search just before close to find that stock and we as security would search though out the day. FYI there were stores that if you returned clothing they would go into bins and as the law allowed diving in the UK they would find some expensive stuff.

Someone needs to smarten up and create some sort of government insentive were these corporations would get some sort of reward for actually recycling the tons of recyclable stuff they just toss and the same would go for any food items and clothing for those in need. It's a shameful disgrace that so much is so blatantly tossed with no regard for those whose lives could be made better. Not to mention the environment.
