Hey if it works , then it’s not ugly.. you finished nicely without going as far as you could . Like a piece of furniture, instead of a field usable handmade weapon for spearfishing. So if it gets all used and nicely weathered it’ll have that kind of aura that shows its use as a tool made to feed oneself and others. Make others looking somewhat different and perhaps more artful while increasing its functionality , and worth.
