    @@edwardpape5819 Hahaha. What a joke you are. Who's the troll here? As for being a hooting judge, I have several decades experience, and for that matter, anyone with a speck of common sense and compassion would see this as just an armchair hunter with more money than sense. It pains me to see people like you applauding this "great video" despite the evidence of your own eyes and ears. Blasting away at a running animal with a powerful scope-mounted gun like a .458 Win mag, there is not a hope of taking a real aim, and is just a bloody vandal and psychopath. Most of Uganda's wildlife were exterminated during the bloody civil wars, when mercenaries would blast away with machine guns. That's not far off what these "people" are doing. Sorry if a dose of the truth offends you, matey. Try staying off KZread for a while until you're declared sane again. LOLOLOL

    @ 14:51, geez how many Cape buffalo bulls did these guys kill on this trip? They must be super filthy rich. An absolute dream hunt, I can’t ever imagine being able to afford a safari of that magnitude. A man can dream though. I’d give anything for a chance at just one Bull but probably won’t ever be able to afford it. Awesome! Excellent video & exceptional bulls killed

    @@MAL-yt4yh The minimal stopping calibre is a .45 calibre. The .450 NE and the .450 Rigby are examples of such calibres. Some African countries require a .45 calibre, or heavier calibres, for hunting such game as elephants, rhinos, and buffalos for example. A stopping calibre is a calibre for a carry rifle. The .577 NE is a favourite calibre for use in extremis. These calibres are loaded with heavy solid, FMJ, and round nose, bullets. They're used to kill thick-skinned game in very close quarters. They kill with their sectional density. In the days of black powder calibres, the 8 bore was the favourite calibre for carry rifles. The .404 Jeffery is an excellent calibre, but, like the .416 Rigby and the .375 H & H Mag, it's an intermediate calibre. It's excellent for hunting lions for example.

    @@hubertusvenator5838 Thank you for your generous response. I hence question the.375 thresholds imposed for Cape Buffalo hunting in many areas. Are they counting on guide backup? I always hunt as if I were alone. ''They kill with their SD''. None of the .500 exceed the SD of the 404. As a point of fact, the 404 is 3rd to the 458 Lott and the 450 Rigby. The 404 actually shares the SD of 470 N.E. Are we discussing math or bullet placement. I fail to understand that a 450gr 404 round shot to the nose for the brain of a Dagga Boy at 10 yds will not stop him?

  • @hubertusvenator5838

    @hubertusvenator5838

    3 жыл бұрын

    @@MAL-yt4yh By sectional density, I was referring to such calibres as the .577 and .600 NE calibres. The 9,3x62 has a greater sectional density than the .375 H & H Mag. Minimal calibre laws are determined by the local politicians' perceived stopping capability of the various calibres. The local governments want the game killed efficiently. They don't want injured, or dead, hunters. They earn very valuable income from the tags. Also, a hunter who injures a quarry has filled his tag. The governments want the hunters to go home happy. They don't want game left injured in the bush. This said, the erstwhile European colonies have different hunting traditions. In Namibia, the German metric calibres are very popular. The 7x64 is commonly used to hunt gemsbok oryxes. The 8x68 S has been used to hunt leopards and lions. The 9,3x62 has been used to hunt black rhinos. The Germans account for roughly 85% of the hunters who travel to Namibia. The outfitters are essentially colonial Germans. Namibia doesn't have calibre regulations. One could hunt buffalos with the 7x57. The outfitters, however, carry double-barrelled rifles chambered for heavy calibres to protect their clients. I agree with you about hunting as if one were alone. Unfortunately, there have been too many instances during which the sportsman had to act quickly to save his outfitter's life. Shot placement is essential. I am an open-sights hunter. Buffalos can be killed efficiently with such calibres as the .375 H & H Mag, the .404 Jeffery, and the .416 Rigby. These calibres, however, are not ideal for hunting elephants. This is why the .450 Rigby was created. Hunting elephants, buffalos, and white rhinos, with the .577 and the .600 NE calibres provides a greater sense of confidence.

    Your comment appalls me, and should appall everyone. No one is objecting to the quality of the video. ho cares about how well it was shot? We're objecting to the quality of the hunt itself, and the appalling lack of sportsmanship it displays for all to see. The idea that it is a real portrayal of Ugandan "hunting" is what's so disturbing, yet all you can see is the production values? What about all the values of humanity and sportsmanship? Disgraceful. You should be ashamed of yourself.

That means they know how to dissect an animal. More likely that the meat is being sold from their butcher's. And I also believe that those people enjoy what they're doing, more of a hobby. I think it's the definition of cruelty.

    Exactly! They can take a wild shot offhand at a running animal, but they can't take the trouble to aim carefully to avoid a horrible wounding, which is what happened - both that day and the day before. They are not "hunters" and don't deserve to be applauded for a display of bad sportsmanship of the worst kind. They don't dare go closer, but feel proud to lob multiple rounds from a .458 at anything that moves. They should be fined and arrested, and so should their so-called "professional" guides for permitting such despicable behaviour.

    The nation of Uganda is one of the most well governed, clean and hospitable countries in Africa I have visited and I have traveled Africa extensively. I was very impressed with the cleanliness, amenities and friendliness of the Ugandan people. There are no human rights issues there. The hotels I stayed at, the restaurants I dined in were excellent. I don't know if you have actually traveled there, probably not from the lack of understanding of their country, but Uganda truly is the pearl of Africa, as Churchhill described her. Rather than troll threads spreading untruths, spend your time traveling to these countries and meeting her people... it will give you a better perspective of the world we live in. And maybe rid you of your colonialist views of Africa as well.
