Brad Tavares is a good gatekeeper. He is always fed to the top prospects unfortunately but still defeats journeymen or old fighters. Not just on that level, but on the level of defeating low-level fighters.

Ikr they did it to make him seem more intimidating but he was actually at a size disadvantage in most of his fights which - with his age and limited tank - explains and excuses to some degree his insistence on counter striking later in his career. But it’s testament to his ability that many analysts thought he could be a real contender even if he moved up to LHW after the losses to Rob left him without a clear road to the title
