Jon not rushing to bulk up means that he's used to carrying around the weight. When it's fight time it won't feel weird for him. He'll be rusty for the 1st round possibly. But when his instincts kick in and he sees a hole in Gane's Armour. It's game over. IMO you'd have to almost kill Jon in the octagon to beat him. He doesn't want to lose. To you it's just a fight, to him: it's his destiny.

I love watching Gane fight because he moves very well. Having said that, unless Jones has some crazy ring rust to stiffle him, I don't think Gane will be able to do much against him. I expect Gane to try and KO him as early as possible because the longer the fight goes on the more Jones will adapt to whatever he is doing. Jon is not a "wild man", he's just an extraordinary, elite fighter. THE.. elite, of the elites. When he's properly challenged, he gets excited, hungry, and passionate to fight. That's when Jon's a ferocious, yet technically masterful, monster in the octagon. Unfortunately, Jon's hunger/passion cooled off YEARS ago, due to the fact that he'd climbed to the top so f'ing easily; and, he defended his belt so easily for so many GD years in a row. That's why doing things like partying, n doing coke (the night before a World Title fight), against the number one contender in the world, etc, was normal to Jon. This became like an ordinary job for him. Just another day in the office. This is why he lost his passion, n his hunger that made him salivate over. It was just too easy, n boring. He began to fight, only from the mind. Strictly technical. But, the thing that made Jon so dangerous, and so incredibly talented in the first place, was his love for it. His competitive spirit. Thus, this is why, imo, Jon is going to RagDoll opponents in the octagon, like we've never seen him do before. Because Jon is going to be excited to fight. With his new body it'll present new challenges and new opportunities. New abilities, strengths, n weaknesses, which Jon will love learning how to utilize with efficiency and effectiveness. Imo, Jon's going to tear through HW's with absolute ferocity. And, then UFC will offer Ngannou a fat sacrificial lamb, retirement check, to cement Jon's daminance and legacy. And, if Hill is still chopping down everyone in the LHW division, then Jon will probably fight him eventually too, and then retire after beating him (unless, there is a new, very, very special phenom in midst (LHW or HW). This is the truth about Jon. It has ZERO to do with a "wild man" in Jon. It has everything to do with the passion and hunger inside of Jon, which is driven by competitiveness. #Worthy Challenges

But yet, not one other person has had Jon Jones success. Not even close. And, why do you think that Jon would go up to HW and risk his perfect record if what you're saying was true? Scared of being able to give it all and still lose. The more you value winning, the more you’ll feel like an inevitable loser in the making. But I see a different Jones now. I think that he is in a more accepting place and while that might lead to complacency for some, for Jones it seems to have led to an even more enlightened and pure state of training. He has the ability to use every thing as his weapon, kicks , elbows, slaps , sweeps , grappling you name it , he has used everything to his advantage while stalking and tearing down his opponent thats how he comes at every one he fights , he also has that unique unconventional approach, crawling like a spider waiting to pounce . Hard to fix take down defense in such a short time. Jones has been wrestling for probably 25 years. That's not something you can learn in a year. I'm sure Gane will make it tough, but if Jon gets ahold of him, hes going to be taken down.

It should be Jon Jones at the end....but no matter how good you are, 3 years lay off along with weight increase will slow ur movements down....a guy like Ciryl Gane is such a dangerous match up coz he can grapple but Vs Francis, he was more into the KO power of Francis that he didn't really care about grappling.....unlike Francis, Gane won't hesitate getting into range of Jones......its a dangerous game for Jones

Yeah, but big money on fighters like Jones and McGregor are the comeback fights. Once everyone sees what they are all about it takes away the mystique. If Jones comes back and gets smoked by Tuivasa or Derrick Lewis, no one is going to care about them back then. If McGregor gets smoked by Chandler, same thing as with Jones. BUT people will pay to watch the return PPV's.

Ppl talking about Jon being slower cause he’s bigger, they don’t have a clue. I ran a 4:38 in the 40 yard dash @157lbs at age 16 on the football field. I trained hard over the years made it to 234lbs and still ran a 4:38 at 234lbs. Let’s be real here if you haven’t done it yourself save your opinion and let’s those who have done the work over years speak on it. I’m 38 now weigh 194lbs and run a 4:37 in the 40 even after having my Achilles tendon surgically repaired. I train Bjj still and still have every bit of my speed plus a bit more with an amount of ridiculous power.

Old fight fan here. Boxing - when Benitez was beaten by Leonard he went up to middleweight - he got a bout with a contender,Hamsho - and I knew what Hamsho was all about. Benitez was a great, textbook, fighter - Hamsho was a mauler,a dirty fighter, and strong. Even Hagler had to get rough with him to defeat him. I told people who thought Benitez would easily win that I knew exactly what was going to happen - that Hamsho was going to get a hold of this highly skilled, smaller, opponent, that he was going to muscle him into a corner and beat him. That is what happened. Gane could do the same - and should do the same - but I don't know Gane. If he has the violence in him,as did Hamsho,he will get it done.

Usman and Izzy as well as McGregor lost their status because of being comfortable with their height of success. i like the fear in Jons mind because it is what makes him the best at being the John Wick of UFC but if its just him pretending to be humble he will definately be humbled by Gane
