Biggest pay day, 350 000, yet had so much potential to go on n keep going. The fighters come thick n fast, till had the chances and to now do it in 2024,very difficult time,if athletes are better, they are better, can compete still however, as we all know, after a fw losses, career is finished. Till was a gd fighter in ufc and tbh, me, and sure more, audience loved a Darren till fight on ufc card, because it was always going to be good,. Gd luck in future plans to till, and take a bow for the achievements, people who say he under achieved, take a step bk, the guy achieved and did what he could.

    Till’s comparison with boxing is true in terms of the pay gap, but the reasons he gives are bizarre. Yes boxing has been established far longer than the UFC, but the UFC is a 4 billion dollar business. The PPV’s often generate far more than elite boxing matches.The pay structure is lower in UFC as they rely on the perception that the brand is the pinnacle of MMA, so a fighter will look past the pay discrepancies until they become a headliner then question it.

  • @beejj6190

    Hmm... the UFC tells you how much you'll get paid and you choose whether you want to accept a contract or not. Good MMA fighters do have other promotional options these days, so it's on them when they decide to get in bed with the UFC.

    Simple view on business and compensation. You have 2 type of employees: 1) Operations 2) Performance Operations employees do the job of what is expected and work between the hours of X and Y. This is viewed as "cost." Performance employees see the opportunity to generate revenue and work with the company to provide additional support, think marketing, sales, etc... They tend to have an entrepreneurial mindset. This is viewed as "profit." If you look to the UFC, those who "partner" and support performance driven opportunities, ALL drive the brand via social media, news interviews, etc... and tend to garner additional revenue opportunities. The ONLY fighters to complain as it relates to compensation tend to be classed as "operations." You can't stock shelves and expect the same compensation as the sales person. This is my view and how I structure compensation in business. Those who help drive revenue & and profits are the ones I invite into a "partnership" with unlimited income potential. Why!? Be cause they make me more money, whereas the other cost me money. Hope this helps!

    Not sure that translates directly into a model like the UFC to be honest. I think of some of the people who’ve taken issue with fighter pay within the UFC and they’ve been very profitable cash cows for the UFC and helped elevate it to where it is today.

    Hmm... funnily enough, the UFC doesn't give any fighter 'unlimited income potential' - by the very nature of its contracts. It has its few favourites though (who are able to earn extremely well). You've forgotten they even stitched their own fighters up over kit sponsorship deals. [Reebok] i.e. taking the large majority of the profits from the deal and actively making sure the fighters got *exponentially less* than when the fighters were able to strike their own kit sponsorship deals previously! Re-think your post, mate as it's clearly from your perspective - not so much the UFC's.

  • @jaywright1883

    @jaywright1883

    Ай бұрын

    @beejj6190 This is the exact mindset of an employee. Paddy Pimblet is a recent example where he used the platform to earn 7 figures in sponsorship opportunities. McGregor (remove the Floyd fight) has earned from hos business ventures. Would the opportunities exist without the UFC!? Poirier, Chandler, etc... have used this and have that mindset to secure "unlimited" income. It's easy to point to example like Ronaldo and his earnings, yet forget that beyond the talent, it's the business ventures that secure them their wealth. Don't tell me the sky is the limit when there's footsteps on the moon. Think being the tike inside the cage!!

    I have never met Dana, but I've been a die-hard UFC fan from the Beginning ... and based on everything I've seen about Dana in the last 25 years he seems to be a legit stand up dude who treats his fighters in a more than fair way ... He also made MMA what it is today .... imo 🇨🇦💪💪🍺🍺

    He’s not your friend, just like the CEO of the bank I work for is not my friend. I get paid to do a job, if I’m not happy or I get a better offer elsewhere I’d take it. You’re a commodity….just like every other human. If you were any good and were a champion then I guarantee you wouldn’t be doing the interview saying what you are

    Darren is 6 wins (3 of which nobody ever heard of) and 5 losses in the UFC. His other 3 wins are against solid fighters that he was 1-2 weight class bigger against. He decisioned 2 of those 3. He is talented but just cannot perform in the top tier. Top performers get top pay is how it should be. Athletes, musicians, and entertainers in general are all way over paid for what they offer society. Darren Till is 100% done in the UFC. He has no future fighting at top tier, so he might as well go on the podcast tour throwing shade. He will never be on a top UFC card again. What is next for Darren, slap fight, or bare knuckle?
