Thank you. I noticed the same thing. Rakic also fed Jiri some nasty left hands. That's Alex's bread and butter. Jiri has an amazing chin, but I wouldn't exactly call a victory for him a safe bet.

We all love both guys. Alex is amazing. But Jiri is going to basically end Alex's career. Alex is 36, and his only weakness is his chin, and his ability to take damage. When you're 36, you can't take the same level of punches and damage. Jiri is way scarier than people seem to realize. As long as Jiri still has his chin, he might be unbeatable right now at 205.

If you slow down the first fight you’ll see most of Jiri’s punches glancing off of Alex’s arms and guard. Now not saying it was all comfort and safe for Alex because he was being heavily pressured and crowded. However again if you slow it down you see Alex rolling punches attempting to bait Jiri in to close the distance and counter, it’s the same technique he used which got him to knock down Jiri, roll the punches and back up and then roll again and throw a nasty hook back. It’s just a shame the technique of rolling punches and countering right back can just look like you’re getting tagged bad and firing right back.

Periera had a good game, effective defense and was systematically destroying the leg. By the end of the first jiri leg was done.. periera was a shark, piecing his prey apart in order to get the finish which was fast and effective. If anything periera will take out jiri faster the second time around. Where jiri had a war with rackic, periera had another systematic take down of hill; and all in the first. Don’t understand gurus take on this one. Seems some sort of bias, idk.

I don't see how he can continue to run through the fire without consequence. Rakic was piecing him up until he got rocked, too. What I saw in that fight was Jiri is still susceptible to great striking. Jiri is a beast. He could win this. I just think 9/10 Alex should win. Get what I mean?

Jiri took a ton of damage in the rakic fight and was rocked multiple times and he's fighting way to soon not to mention he can't defend leg kicks and he leaves himself open to much especially to left hooks I wouldn't be surprised if Jiri gets put out cold if he doesn't grapple

Dolidze can’t throw a proper punch to save his life. The one time Smiths 1-2‘s could actually be a game changer.

This is the perfect storm for Jiri, Alex was on "holidays" 2 weeks before the fight and had 1 month of rest after 300 because of the pinky toes, furthermore this is the most chaotic card ever fitting Jiri persona... either he win now or we aint gonna see him champ again till Alex is around

I Don’t get the “jiri does better when he’s active” 🤨. I remember when we complained that jiri fought once a year. The oezdemir and Reyes fight nearly a year a part and Glover fight was a year later. Alex likes activity as well and does make the adjustments in his rematches. Look at the Izzy 2 fight. He was destroying Izzy’s leg. But I think guru just doesn’t want Ankalaev to get a title shot. which is understandable 😂

Based on Jiri’s last fight where he couldn’t defend leg kicks, was walking into headshots….youre not that educated. Maybe go back and watch Jiri’s last fight and come back. I agree with the Jiri pick, he had a lot going against him in that 1st fight with Pereira, and still did really well. Jiri wants this one more than Pereira too imo. I gotta go with Brian T City Ortega tho, its gonna be a real scrap but I think Ortega's chin and cardio are gonna hold up more than Lopez's Ortega has the advantage on the ground, and he's pretty crafty on the feet. MVP vs Garry is a hard one to predict, its either gonna be a really boring decision, or a masterful strike fest, either way my heart says MVP but my mind says Garry.

Idk why no one brings out pereiras suspicious cardio at LHW. It made sense against Jan cuz of the altitude but this dude looked incredibly slow and labored in that second round from those brief grappling sequences, especially with his hands, he kicks fast but those straight shots he attempted looked like they were in slow motion, and Jiri finally getting him on the backfoot the speed difference was very noticeable. Alex doesn’t throw enough either he waits way too much, and against Jiri that’s horrible, that’s how he builds momentum. Rakic made Jiri look like an amateur on the feet until Jiri just out tarded him. But the majority of the fight he had Jiri worried about things coming his way and none of his autistic trickery was working. Jiri also has great head movement, alex was having trouble landing anything to his head and we’ve seen time and time again no matter how much you chew up jiris legs he’s gonna keep pushing forward. Alex just has a lot more to worry about coming into this fight, he’s almost being too active at this age and he’s coming in on short notice with broken toes. Who knows tho maybe he starches him in the first

You're not counting as well that Jiri had a very tough fight against Rakic while Alex got out clean and no sweat against Hill...and remember Alex needs just one punch right

I am a huge fan of both and don't want to see either lose, Jiri is a great role model, Alex has a great story, but I see this being Alex's final fight as a champ, especially because of his age-experience ratio. I think Jiri beats him this time, the short notice will hurt Alex more, then Jiri will beat him in the trilogy. Alex will probably hurt Jiri again but this time he gets the chance to survive and comes back to finish Alex and unfortunately it will make a lot of people downplay Alex winning the first fight. I think Alex goes the next year or 2 winning some and losing some. Losing against heavy grapplers, beating the others then calls it a career. He'll still be a legend for what he accomplished against the odds, but this will be it for his days as a champion.

Jiri - Alex could go either way, people forget that Jiri was tagging him with straight shots, his unpredictable style is a double edged sword to where it’s hard to time him, but he will always be susceptible to be walking into Alex’s left hook like he did in the 1st fight. Jiri will always be in danger vs Alex with his hands down style, but his pressure is always a factor because Alex has a tendency to put his hands out, wait out bursts of punches and eat shots. As I did the first one, I’m betting fight result KO either way.

Regardless of the outcome of the main event, Alex will move up to HW. It does not taint his legacy at all because he has a great chance of becoming the 1st three division champ.

Your take on Rei Tsuruya surprises me. I think his quality as a fighter is more akin to Road to UFC guys like Rinya Nakamura or Hyun Sung Park rather than Anshul Jubli or Rong Zhu.

he's so young, hard to know how good the kid really is. I appreciate his confidence, or as the kids say - his aura. But in his split decision win, he dominated the first round with his wrestling, then took the entire second round off before willing himself to victory in the third...against a lower quality opponent than what he will be facing in the ufc. If the kid hasn't improved his cardio and striking, the underdog is live after round 1.
