I can't believe all of you completely read Alex wrong. Alex did not call Izzy out from hate. It was to THANK HIM OUT OF RESPECT FOR SAVING HIS LIFE. DC please interview Alex and ask him yourself. Alex is giving Izzy a opportunity for a championship because he is thankful for the motivation Izzy gave him to get him off the bar stool. I can't believe none of you saw that. DC saying not giving a second chance is funny considering he had one vs Jones.

Alex meant it in a respectful way he literally said (the guy didn’t translate well) that Izzy got him out of the bar because of him seeing him talk about him on TV, and that he was doing the same thing for him and he doesn’t want to see him waste his talent. He said all of those things. (It makes sense cuz Izzy just got a dui and wants to sit out so it would be like Alex’s turn to save him, he meant it so respectfully it was such a touching call out but no one got it because of the translation unfortunately)

I don’t think the “Adesanya, come to daddy.” line was very respectful This is a misunderstanding many have about the whole bar story. Poatan quit alcohol before becoming a professional fighter. Alex is never really aggressive. I dont think he was confused I think his game plan was to disengage from the weirdness and make Jiri fight his fight. His defense is so tight and his leg kicks do ridiculous damage. Hes patient and waits to catch you out of position thats why unorthodox stuff isnt really gonna work against him. It just doesnt work like that. I dunno why people said hes aggressive though he def doesnt walk forward and throw ever

You're absolutely correct. Alex was not aggressive at all. I need to watch the fight again, but I thought Alex looked tentative and not sharp, and was almost knocked out by Jiri. Had Jiri not got caught with that left hook, he might have landed his own knockout punch, he had Alex backing up and badly hurt. Alex got hit clean with full power shots right away by Jiri. Alex landed good leg kicks, but he had no defense at all for Jiri's punches, he got hit with a big uppercut from Jiri. Jiri really has no technique, and he's not a particularly advanced striker, so I thought Peirera getting almost stopped by Jiri so early in the fight (about 2 rounds into the fight) was not a good performance. I really feel like Peirera's career is over at this point, because there aren't any good matchups for him at 205lbs. He really should push for an Adesanya fight, a Strickland rematch, or some other "money fight." If he has to face Jamahal Hill, I think he should just retire and protect his health. A war with the masive power puncher Jamahal Hill is not a good way to finish out a career, because Jamahal is not a big star.

Why do people keep suggesting Tom v Stipe. Stipe has already said he wants no part of it. He's already pretty much retired. He wants one last giant payday against Jones and he's done. Aspinall is worth less pay for him and it's way more risky. He'd get slept within a minute for sure. Stipe is never accepting a fight against Aspinall so I wish presenters would stop suggesting it. You'd have to hope that Jones's ego might get the better of him and he might accept that fight. doubt it though.

People always talk about how powerful or technical alex is. Alex's number 1 tool is being clever! Alex sucks at wrestling but he's good at wrestling defense. Best example is his previous fight vs jan. Why am I mentioning this? Because jan is 40 yrs old and that was a 3 round fight. Jiri is younger, better, and it was a 5 round title fight. If alex is forced to wrestle, he'd probably lose. So what does alex do? Attack him at range and bait him to the fence. Those kicks from alex were good but jiri also had some good punches by faking takedowns. So alex being the clever striker he is baits jiri toward the fence. Any striker knows that wrestling defense is sprawl and crawl to the fence, you've seen it every striker. So alex baits him there and fakes losing a trade to build up jiri's confidence. But the moment the second time they're at the fence again, alex is ready to oull his trap and counters with a right, finishes a left, and a barrage of elbows to win the fight.

Izzy may have bragging rights with his win over Pereira but Poatan is winning in life rn as champ and already has an extensive resume. Izzy rn just got dusted up easily by someone Pereira made quick work out of and all he can do is sit at home and watch Pereira achieve greatness while he has become irrelevant. Its kind of ironic how Izzy ended up becoming the guy he claimed Pereira was back in 2020

RC saying there’s a goat debate between jones and Khabib is why people don’t take this show serious. However, saying a win over aspinal would change that makes the argument 10x dumber and that stupidity has to be intentional. It makes absolutely 0 sense for 1 additional win to move the needle when Jone’s resume is already 4x better.
