i think this will be usmans last fight if he loses tbh, could be one of those "I don't know where we go from here" moments. He is two fights out from the welterweight belt if Colby beats Leon, and he's 36. the only reason I think he's doing this is because he believes he can beat sean strickland if he pulls off a miracle on khamzat. then would retire after his first defense.

The way volk talked about rehydration left a bad taste. Imagine volk at 145 with no rehydration? Islam is a large man without being a bit pudgy like volk. He's bigger than khabib. Islam should be fighting at 170. And look at volk. He should be fighting at 155 not 145. Their last fight they walked into the cage at the same weight. If Islam is a 155 weight bully then volk is a 145 weight bully. Volk knows how important rehydration is. You think if volk wasn't properly able to rehydrate properly per body as his opponents he'd do as well? Islam is bigger and him cutting to 155 is harder than volk. On fight day volk was more hydrated than Islam. Volk saying he does need rehydration is a disgusting lie. Volk never had to fight as dehydrated as Islam. Whether you believe he can or can't doesn't matter. The fact is hydration is arguably the most important thing . And volk who was better hy than Islam saying hydration doesn't matter is messed up

NGL, these are two of the best fights it is possible to make right now. Usman vs Chimaev has the potential to be a dream fight changing of the guard like we rarely actually get to see. Some of these divisions are so bogged down with the carousel of the same "top 5," but these two are the kinds of fights that actually stand up to the test of time.

Khamzat is a good fighter, maybe he will become one of the best to ever do it, but he has fought nobodies except for Gilbert burns. He hasn't even had a single 5 round fight. He is 29 and his resume is toilet paper. Let him reach 10 fights against top10 opponents and then he can talk. He literally has a single win against a top 10 opponent in a 3round fight and it was close.

Nah bro. Volk is a calm controlled man by nature. Look at any of his pre and post fight interviews. He's never this mad. He didn't snap until Islam said he's only in it for the paycheque. Either islams right and Volk doesn't like being called out, or Islam is only partly correct and Volks ultimate decision to take the fight was based on paycheque. Either way, Islam is in Volks head now. Better chance than he's ever had to win.

The Dagestanis (and this is just my opinion based on khabib and Islam) want everything perfect. Perfect camp, cut time, extra rehydration time. It’s almost they don’t understand that volk has that fire inside and just wants to avenge his loss, so they can only think paycheck. Volk ain’t that guy imo, he has plenty of money. He wants that W.

Not sure what usman and volk are doing on this short of notice because with full camps these fights should be amazing. Still though I respect the pride and am pulling for both as they saved this crumbling card big time. Both volk and usman still have a big chance though

1. A country with a mature culture respects and supports Volkanovski and Usman, who came on stage after receiving a sudden proposal with less than two weeks left. 2. In a country with a foolish and disorderly culture, those two players are disparaged and belittled. This shows the inferiority of that culture.

Volkanovski is such good business for the UFC!!! He has the desire & will to fight anyone & under almost any circumstances.. he is a TREMENDOUS fighter ( possibly the best. time will tell)... he is a consistent fighter... he shocks fans & raises the bar every time he fights... he puts asses in seats & rakes in PPV buys... he is one hell of a roll model... he speaks well & is very entertaining... It's just insane! One thing is for sure - the man deserves everything he has & everything he will get! I find it so strange how proud of a total stranger I am... it's one of the cooler aspects of the human condition; acquaintance & familiarity with another person is not required for the assimilation &/or the notion of brotherhood. ✌️
