Idiots really have this narrative that it was stopped early. If Adesanya was still trying to move and get away, even whilst hurt, then you can make an argument that it was stopped early. But he had his back against the cage, head completely down while Poatan was landing shot after shot with a minute and a half left of the round. It was a perfect TKO stoppage.

Like Alex himself said, Izzy was 2 seconds from being put to sleep by one of Poatan's knees. We've all seen what it looks like when someone with a unbreakable chin goes to sleep, they are never the same again. Izzy should be grateful because there is no way he would have survived the remaining minutes of the round after being hurt like that, even if he was able to escape that barrage

If izzy could add a little more power to his shots he'd beat Alex everytime, but he doesn't possess the power to put Alex down. Alex just has to wait for that left hook to land and it's downhill from there. Either izzy adds muscle mass, which will likely reduce his speed or he loses. Either way I think Alex has the edge.

I have to disagree. Look at their first MMA fight. Izzy behaved completely different than compared to his other fights. I refer to their face offs, the press conference, even his walkout, he always looked unfocused as if there is something he cannot get out of his head (the KO potentially). The UFC staff even had to remind him that he can step into the octagon, it looked as if he was dreaming. In the fight itself, he had 3 very good rounds, but as soon as he realized that Poatans power is simply too much, he immediately tried to clinch as soon as he had an opportunity to do so. Now, there are only 5 months in between these fights, and I don't see any significant different outcome if they both intentionally keep the fight on the feet. Thus, I assume one potential path to a victory for Izzy, and that is Wrestling and Grappling. If he improved exponentially in this training camp, I see him outwrestle Poatan and winning by decision. If he mainly focused on his striking, footwork, conditioning, I don't see that he escapes a power shot by Poatan for a period of 25 minutes.
