UFC 274 is an upcoming mixed martial arts event produced by the Ultimate Fighting Championship that will take place on May 7, 2022, at a TBD location. The event was originally linked to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, but the promotion eventually decided to move the event to an undisclosed location.
A UFC Light Heavyweight Championship bout between current champion Glover Teixeira and former Rizin Light Heavyweight Champion Jiří Procházka is expected to take place at the event.
A UFC Lightweight Championship bout between current champion Charles Oliveira and former interim champion Justin Gaethje (also former WSOF Lightweight Champion) is also expected to take place at the event.
A lightweight bout between Joe Lauzon and Donald Cerrone was initially scheduled for UFC Fight Night 208. However, the bout was moved to this event for undisclosed reasons.
Charles Oliveira:
Charles Oliveira da Silva (born October 17, 1989) is a Brazilian professional mixed martial artist and Brazilian jiu-jitsu practitioner. He currently competes in the lightweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC), where he is the reigning UFC Lightweight Champion. He holds multiple UFC records, notably the most submission wins in the organization's history at 15, and most finishes at 18. As of December 13, 2021, he is #5 in the UFC men's pound-for-pound rankings.
Oliveira is now set to make his second title defense against another former UFC Interim Lightweight champion Justin Gaethje on May 7, at UFC 274.

Justin Ray Gaethje (born November 14, 1988) is an American professional mixed martial artist. He currently competes in the Lightweight division of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). He is a former Interim UFC Lightweight Champion. As of December 13, 2021, he is #1 in the UFC lightweight rankings.
Born in Safford, Arizona, Gaethje began wrestling when he was four years old. He was a two-time Arizona state champion as a wrestler at Safford High School, and an NCAA Division I All-American during his time at the University of Northern Colorado. He began his amateur MMA career while in college, turned professional in 2011 and joined the World Series of Fighting (WSOF) in 2013, where he became Lightweight Champion. He defended his WSOF belt five times before vacating it to join the UFC in 2017.
He has finished 19 of his 23 wins by knockout or technical knockout and has received six Fight of the Night and four Performance of the Night awards in his nine fights in the UFC.

@@kaifilmss we have seen when Khabib used to step into the Octagon, the Level of pressure he put on his opponents. Islam is putting the same level of pressure on his opponents. Everyone want to see Islam fighting Charles, and Gaethje. But Dana is Delaying things just like he did with Khabib.

Nah, the dagestani guys are more brutal. As it stands, doesn’t matter if half the wins khabib got were “average”, to the average person they’re not, and to go undefeated for an entire career for that many fights may never happen again. Literal proof he’s the most skilled in the sport until that’s matched or beaten. Not that I’m a diehard fan, seems pretty factual.

Oliveira is such a unique and weird champ. "Vem, mas vem sem entender nada" is one of the weirdest quotes that actually makes sense, but strangely enough Justin is the type of guy to go "without knowing anything " that represents a real threat to Do Bronx's reign. It's something like "come fight me just as you are right now - clueless". It's a reference of him being, according to himself, always overlooked and misunderstood

Gaethje’s face seems to be made of elastic. He rarely shows much damage and he’s been hit enough. His face was even pretty clean after the Alvarez fight.

Gaethje all the way! Both of the last 2 fights saw Oliveira hurt, well Gaethje hits harder than both those guys! He has what it take to put Olives away. Don't get me wrong, I like both guys, but I have always backed Gaethje and I ain't gonna stop now.

@@smoketj4830 Dustin beat Justin forever ago. The Ferguson fight showed a fully evolved Gaethje. The Chandler fight is likely because Chandler wasn't expecting good striking from Oliveira and against Gaethje he was planning on all-out war. Gaethje by knockout.

Everyone thinks Justin will have the advantage on the feet but I don't know, it's 💯 that if Charles gets him on the ground he will finish him quicker than khabib did(if that's even possible i keep seeing a standing rear naked choke)but I don't know about Justin being better standing, more power YES for sure, but Justin gets hit a hell of a lot and Charles has a Lazer left hook and decent upper cut its just a matter of does he have the power to stop Justin in his tracks. Will Justin be able to walk through Charles'punches to land that power. If he can Charles might panic and look for the door if not it's all Charles in my opinion. Peace

Your crazy. No way Charles is ever Champ if Khabib is Champ. And Just is actually a better wrestler than most people realize. He just wants to be exciting and not roll on the ground with another man cause he sees it as boring. Khabib didn’t wanna hurt Justin because he had respect for him. That’s why he put him to sleep, cause Justin said he wouldnt tap. And Khabib knew Justin parents were watching in the stands. Just remember Justin can end this in one Punch.

You're not wrong. While MMA chess doesn't provide a clear cut answer as anything can happen in a fight, it's still stands to reason how Gaethje couldn't take Chandler out in a pure striking war where he was able to knock him down clean, a war where by the 3rd Chandler was even allowing himself to get hit to put on a show but Oliveira survived a Chandler onslaught and outright coldcocked him the second the 2nd round began and chased him down to take him out decisively. Similarly, while it was the old Gaethje, he was still collapsed by the same Poirier who Oliveira weathered, gassed with precise body strikes and removed with a submission. Anyone thinking it's only in Gaethje's hands to take out Oliveira with striking is 100% overlooking him despite the facts staring us in the face.

@@user-nv2wt4hi8t spot on, but Charles has an absolutely gigantic advantage on the ground, I think he will shoot about 90 seconds in and strangle Justin by the 2 minute mark. The grappling gap is rediculous, Justin should fear Charles ground game more that he feared khabibs ground, coz Charles will submit U, yes khabib did submit him but normally he doesn't threaten submissions as much as just SMESH.

And Gaethje has this strange habit of not at all using his wrestling out of fear of looking boring whereas Oliveira is one of the most complete fighters on the roster today so Gaethje needs to be very careful dealing with the man with the most submissions in the UFC today.

He says that he is used to wrestling 3 minute rounds and he's an explosive wrestler so he had doubts about being able to sustain that across the entire time. Yes he says "I'm not a boring wrestler" so I see ur point but his explanation was gas tank. U seem to be knowledgeable, that's rare especially on KZread. 👍

I doubt that. I think that’s his strategy to make his opponent to weaken when coming to fist power n ,after he strikes with take downs or submissions(his speciality) the way he did with Poirier.

Gaethje gets stunned every fight and once he gets stunned this fight, Charles will wrap him up and submit him. Gaethje's best bet is Charles' head movement is near zero.
