They sign the contract. A lot of these guys sign long fight contracts and get stuck in them. Instead sign a short fight contract. If you sign for 10 fights at 50k each then you have to fight out that contract. Even if you do great and make a name for yourself by the 5th fight. It's not rocket science bro. INDEPENDENT CONTRACTOR. UFC is a promotion. The fighter is the business. It's a very simple setup.
