UFC 141's Brock Lesnar on Overeem's Skills, Farming + 12 Inches of Missing Colon

MMA H.E.A.T.'s Karyn Bryant catches up with former UFC heavyweight champ Brock Lesnar and hears what he has to say about his upcoming UFC 141 fight with Alistair Overeem. Brock lets us know what he thinks of the former Strikeforce champ as an opponent, how he feels when people question his own dedication to MMA and how he approaches each of his fights. Brock also talks about his recovery from diverticulitis, his training with fellow UFC heavyweight Pat Barry and his love of farming as a way to clear his head.

When he said he was gonna do the best he can do to maybe win this fight. He knew he wasnt gonna win this fight. However, dont sell him short, dude kicked ass in a dangerous place. Its a testament to his skills toughness and heart he did as good as he did.

I like Brock Lesnar. He acheived a lot in this sport of MMA considering where he came from and how quickly he acheived it. A lot of people also don't realise that this guy had to fight top level guys in the sport whilst sometimes fighting off a serious disease. RESPECT!!!

Very humble guy, But he wasn't the same fighter after the diverticulitis which sucks. Either way Brock Lesnar was the UFC heavyweight champion and still holds the records, Overeem looked so promising after his Lesnar win, Shame he cheated using roids.. His career hasn't been that bright since.. But as Heyman said, Brock wasn't ready for the Overeem fight.

+Adders321 My father had diverticulitis. Had surgery almost two years ago for it. It is so debilitating. My dad worked in a paper mill and went from being a working man lifting heavy equipment one day to having to spend two months on light duty. The pain drops people. He compared the pain to someone taking a red hot knife right into your gun and twisting the fucking thing.

@muchohumpty To be fair, he suffered a broken hand and broken foot fighting Mirko which made it very hard for him to go for the kill when he had the chance. You could be right, though. Hopefully they give him more stylistically favorable match-ups so he can catch up in the ground game. He's charismatic and exciting. With time and development, he could make an excellent gatekeeper. Someone to put fans in the seats and keep putting on good fights.

@lamaquina570 Yeah I get your point, I guess we as fans tend to go based on accomplishments and Overeem has clearly been more successful. But I totally agree about Pats head movement and footwork, although he's a smaller (shorter) guy so he had to be strong in those areas to compete, Look at any big guy, most dont have great footwork because they've rarely been forced to use it. I met Pat Berry earlier this year, as nice as advertised.

Brock with a little more jujitsu and stand up would be more dangerous.

we differ in opinion, but if you look at it realisticly, brock without a doubt needs atleat 3 years of hardcore mma training and of course not getting serioulsy injured during this time to really be the best or one of the best. Alistair has been all over the place he has so much more experience. Now when brock came into mma he was expected to just be teh best flat out without any real hardcore mma experience, give him some time and without a doubt he can be the best.

Dude, Brock said he was done fighting, he wanted to go back to being a farmer or something. Dana White talked about it, it's on KZread somewhere. I think a similar thing happened to him as with Fedor; they get past their prime, start losing a lot and want to stop fighting, settle down. Brock was awesome, but certainly not the best. Valesquez and Overeem tore through him with little trouble. Why are you so stuck on Brock? I say let the man retire, he's had a great run.

I have no idea why any "fight fan" would think Brock is afraid based on this video. Lol! Listen, in the fight game, a fighter who is afraid to fight another fighter will simply fake an injury and pull out of the event. I think if Brock was afraid, he wouldn't be in the UFC. There is much more money for him in the world of pro wrestling where the fights are choreographed. Afraid? No. Respect for his very dangerous opponent? Heck yeah! But hey, Brock is dangerous in that octagon also. Can't wait!

@legend2kill It's because many of the mma hardcore fans are snobs and ignorant....they initially spreaded the hate for this guy. You can see the same anger they hold for anyone that rises quickly or beats a former pride fighter. That's partly why Jon Jones is hated on. Fortunately, Alistair represents pretty much the linear champion of Pride, Strikeforce and Dream. So I expect this fight to really piss off these guys or make them happy....
