We had a 1st gen Echo in our master bathroom for listening to music in the morning kzread.infoUgkxABghAEkaIDGZfHRBH3D3rBrlraNmnC71 and while in the shower. I didn't realize how tinny and awful the sound output on the original Echo was until we replaced it with the Studio. It was a sonic upgrade far beyond what I was expecting. Just wow. I love it because it's like having speakers IN the shower. My friend likes it because the music is so loud that she can no longer hear me singing. So that's a win-win.

This is a great review. Exactly what im looking for. However, you said you heard almost no difference between the two aside from the mega boom 3 being louder and having a touch more of bass. But when you did your test at the different volumes, the megaboom sounded much more full and rich than the boom 3. Is that really just the extra loudness of the megaboom that gives it this effect on video?

After making this review and using the Megaboom 3 for a longer period of time and listening to different genres of music through it I can certainly say the Megaboom 3 has significant richness in the sound to justify going for it. But if I was too start again I would properly just invest in two Boom 3s and link up and create more volume and surround sound that way. But that is just preference.

I have just purchased the Boom 3 by accident as I wanted the megaboom 3 but after watching this vid I won’t return it as it’s just that bit louder but as I take it abroad with me I rather have a smaller speaker - had the JBL charge 3 which works a dime but love my gadgets so getting this and also the BOLITE 7 only cause I’m a fool and love spending money 😂

How do you get the MAC address for the speaker?

I suggest connect megaboom 3 for TV at home instead of those long sound bar.

Is the large size of the UE Megaboom 3 an inconvenience? Because I heard that the UE Boom 3 can fit into most cup holders etc

SrgntQuacky I wouldn’t go as far as saying it’s an inconvenience. But it does take up a lot more space the UE Boom 3. So I suggest when the individual is buying it to really consider its use. If your on the go all the time UE Boom 3 is the one. But if the speaker is stationary and not really going anywhere then the UE Megaboom 3. Hope this helps.

I would agree with that comment. However most wireless Bluetooth speakers I find lose there bass in outdoor environments.

If the megaboom 3 has the same demensions as the original megaboom, and the boom 3 is the same size as the boom, then it does have a bit of a difference, but not much. My boom can fit in ANY cup holder, where as my megaboom can only fit in cup holders that have a large ring for larger drinks, or if its a mesh one on a backpack. That been said, I walk around with two megabooms, one in each mesh waterbottle holder in my backpack. Also, I can fit them in front pockets of a coat I have. One last little trick, even tho its a little bulky, I will take a shoelace and loop it through the hanging rings on my megabooms, so one is on each end, then sling it over my neck like a necklace giving me insane sound with no muffling from frabic over the speakers. I love to do that then go for long cruises on my long board, which I dont have to worry about the speakers if I crash, since they are shockproof. I have crashed many times with them and they have never stopped playing or failed me yet! They are over a year old now so im looking to upgrade

@@creatorofcontent184 Yep!!! I got the smaller one with charging dock. First batch of it. Ihated the ad, not the product. Though i still find the magic button not so magic and useless! A more appropriate name is subscription button. Because with out it it doesn't do anything when a phone is connected. On your desktop it does, it starts you media player. Wish it could also handle playfunction on your mobile not needing a subscription. So i guess that's hating again hahaha!

I had the mega boom 3 and then these idiots decided to throw it up and it landed on the pavement multiple time so it’s broken now I have the little boom three and holy crap the mega boom 3 has more bass with my custom EQ but the little boom 3 is apparently louder Damnn but yeah WOWW

I have both and I like them. I give them 1 point bad for battery life! In 100% volume UE Boom 3 gets 3 hours even less, UE megaboom 3 gets 4 hours. According the documents in 50% they get 15 and 20 hours. No. That is not true. You neve, never get these 15-20 hours. My test is 12 and 14! Sorry but the documents are lying!

I've read that the battery ratings are more or less accurate at 25% volume, which would line up pretty well with your max volume findings. I've not read the documents. If that 50% claim is in there, then that is disgraceful. Battery ratings are always measured at low power consumption settings (i.e. low screen brightness, low volume, etc.) and the 25% volume is perfectly acceptable in that regard. False claims with specific percentages and durations, however, are certainly not.
