To all complaining about the price, good components cost money. Good products take time. If you want affordable and amazing, you’re not likely to get it. I saved for years before ever buying my first polysynth. It’s an investment. Your dollars go to support the people working to make these synths become a reality. So few of them are profiting at a healthy margin over these instruments. We have to stop expecting amazing stuff to come cheap. The world doesn’t work that way. We only have an illusion that it does.

I love your attitude and excitement about synths, guys. So much negativity out there these days about how you choose to demo a synth...or how the synth is made...or how many octaves a synth has...or how much a synth costs. But then there you are just having a blast playing one and all is well in the world. Keep it up.

@@idreaminsurfgreen5327 same, been trying out the ob 6 for a month and returning it, getting thie super 6 instead. it's just personal tatse really. i'm a big fan of faders instead of knobs, makes it more fun, and the sound is just so thick warm. OB 6 has that metallic thing to it, which is nice, but i'm not that into it.

The Super 6 features a 24 dB filter, while the OB-6 has a 12 dB filter. That already makes quite a difference. I have an OB-6 keyboard and wouldn't sell it for anything in the world. But I like the Super 6 and I could imagine it sitting in my studio at some point; rather than a Prophet-6, which again is a different animal, but closer to the Super 6, also due to its filter.

I have an ob6 and juno 106 and was blown away by the super 6, much more so than the prophet 5 or moog one. It's all down to taste etc. For raw tone the ob6 and juno etc. Still have something but the binaural thing is really awesome, not just a gimmick. Makes me wish my other synths had it.

Ouch. You're right though, think the demos with George from UDO are incredible, the way he moves through seemingly infinite sound creations and so effortlessly is awe inspiring. We always try give the angle of a "Punter" walking up to it in the shop and having a go - which is what is happening here. I can vouch for how amazing it sounded in the room and how incredibly sensitive/tactile the keybed was (you can see and hear me wrestling with it on some patches) anyways. A Jekyll & Hyde synth, that causes emotions from wow to meh for me. For now, 95% of that mix is meh to me. I really want to think, £2300, wow! But I don't. Sure it's unique, sure it can sound totally nice. But dry, it can sound as pants as a white plastic Bontempi I recall seeing people in my family mess with from my 70's childhood. Yeah of course that's a bit too extreme. Most of the time, I wonder how on earth most of what it outputs can even sit in a track. I've seen music channels play it at shows, and they looked like they were tempted to just turn it off half way through, when a patch went completely out of control lol. I also have one-foot in the way too dear camp. Plus, I can't help but feel 4 octaves will be an insult to most - and from comments I see this already. Refreshing tech for sure. Like most stuff, I expect these will quickly devalue in a huge way too.

I kinda disagree, I think this is a special combo of components and features that won't be recreated anytime soon - we need to take what we hear thus far with a grain of salt since the demos are predominantly using presets. I share your concern over the mix but this video in particular is lacking the depth of a proper recording set-up. the noise floor is higher in this video than in the perfect circuit video for example, and the depth of the recording feels muted - it seems to be a crappy set-up. I think the stereo depth thing won't be as gimmicky as you may find it is in this video, yes it can do huge pads that fill up the entire spacial mix, but let's say you want a lead to pierce through a mix, what difference does this binaural tech make to a stereo chorus? It's just a different method to a similar, but overall more powerful and unique response. Also I'd like to say the oscillators may be digital but they're outputting such a clean signal, when you add the spacial effects things get this nice bit of warmth and milkiness to the sound that I think sounds great in unison.

FFS! Why do manufacturers make short keyboards for £2,000+ synths? Make it 76 or 88, and leave room at the side for a laptop tray like the Arturia key labs. When will they start building these things for people who can manipulate a wide tonal and sonic range live? Not everybody wants a ‘rack with a few token keys’ to plug into a DAW. Some people want a synth you can perform in epic ways and the extra plastic and circuitry it would take to add the keys would cost tuppence by comparison. It’s just a rip off otherwise.

Jack Duxbury // Don’t flatter yourself, not only You are terrible at doing this but also Dyslexic. Everyone try’s their best to do their videos interesting and full of info but you are the oposite. You can’t play, Yo Don’t know any terminology You are lazy at it... YOU ARE THE DONALD TRUMP OF THE SYNTH REVIEWS 😂🤣 You’ve done it 👏 Let’s see how much longer You can keep your talentless act on *i click to see the videos because the Chanel has somewhat a good angle of gear reviews (when you are not in it) but as soon as I see You; it all goes south. So there you have it

Ignore these haters Jack, you will go crazy listening to their crap and self centred, toxic attitude. Do the videos the way you want 🙂

I see you spotted my Dyslexia, it's alright, I've come to terms with it....it was after I got invited to a Toga party but turned up dressed as Goat that I knew I had a problem! I am sorry though I've stoked up such a negative feeling, I hear what you're saying though and won't jest any longer. I do appreciate the honesty though, all the best to ya X

Sorry, don't like it for 2 and a half grand it sounds awful. Its butt ugly and dated looking. They should have used real VCOs and added poly aftertouch. Not a winner. I live in Bristol as well, shame both of our synth manufacturers are just not getting it right. You can't have your cake and eat it by making it cheaper using FPGA "NCOs" or whatever George calls them (he tried giving them a different name) then ask a price reflective of what it should have been were it a Discrete VCO based Moog or Sequential... Its like after all this time George has simply squeezed a cut down Summit (with stereo spread, but only 6 voices instead of 16) into an old Roland case from somewhere around 1981-3. Make it Poly AT, replace the FPGA generated fake Oscs with real discrete VCOs, add some nice wood panels and a screen and come back. This is like an early prototype that shoud never have been released to the public...

Each to their own. I think it certainly has character. To me it sounds lush, looks playable and eminently programmable. The chorus effect and panning are a bit much, but I quite like the wobbly wonkyness and can see people having a level of affection for this similar to the regard held for the Juno 106. Looks like fun.

You genuinely have no clue what you're talking about - it may not be to your preference but some things are simply biased out of some odd disdain you have to it's aesthetics, which I find wonderful.

When it is about taste, it is just a personal point of view. FPGA allows high quality , and some functionalities that you can get with a real VCO , like custom waveforms. It is made for direct control, more easy interface without any screen and being lost in sub menus . There are 12 voices in total, but only 6 in the binaural mode. And the most important it has its sound, this lush sound that makes him stand out among synths with digital oscillators.
