My biggest network upgrade was getting fiber it is crazy how much it helps my bufferbloat is so low and the speeds are so good for cheaper than what i was paying for before i got fiber.

I have Frontier Fios Fiber and an eero Mesh Network. I direct connected my LAN cable from the ONT to their cheapo router and then connected the eero to the crap router for wifi. My ps5 is connected to the cheapo router which has wifi inactive. The cheapo router and the eero both have no qos. Question; can I replace the cheapo router with the Netduma to act as a gateway only with the wifi disconnected so I can use qos to give bandwith priority to my ps5 and to use the geo fence for ping map selection? This is all to lower ping in MW2 ranked play lol lmk your thoughts if you don’t mind and thank you!

The R2 would be great for your setup. I can't speak to how the Geofilter acts with Ranked as I just play TDM. QOS on the R2 would help make sure bullets register. The QOS system is getting a major overhaul & it's been great so far in beta testing. Been melting players in COD.

Unifi OS has an Adblock option. Got the UDM and it's been a game changer.

NextDNS can be directly integrated into Unifi. Allowing for many more options. It has many of the world's biggest block lists. You can pick the one that suits your needs the best. It has plenty of customization options To fit each individual user. Even if you don't own a udm I suggest checking it out. github.com/nextdns/nextdns/wiki/

You need the SE model or UDR for Unifi adblocker, UDM, Pro needs 3.0 and it’s on 2.5 beta at the moment.

I had to make my Netduma XR500 as my main router & an ASUS router as my secondary for VPN, etc. However I had to change the ASUS router to a completely different subnet(I think that's what it's called but completely different ip set). However I think I want to do it like you where I have a main router & use the XR500 for just the console. Is what you did in this video called a vlan? I just thought there's no way to have 2 routers on a network unless 1 is an AP because they'll conflict. Kinda confusing.

The UDM allows for separated vlans. Basically individual networks that you can set up on one router. Fancy stuff that I'm just starting to learn about.

NAT is Open on Xbox & COD. More UDM + DumaOS videos are slowly being worked on.

@@LowPingKing on PS5 and PC. I can get an open NAT by using my ISP Router with DMZ enabled, but not with the ER4. I want to upgrade to a Dream Machine, but concerned I will have the same issue.

@@tkdchris2 sounds like double NAT. Getting you own modem should fix the issue. It's always better to own your own modem. Modem/Router combos stink.

Does the udm act as a modem?

The UDM is a router & I use a VLAN for the DumaOS routers.

This is exactly like selecting the worst World Cup teams you want to play against.

My place is just under renovation and so I can't record. My setup is improved quite a lot since this video. Eventually I'll have an updated video with gameplay. My gaming channel has some gameplay but it's been put on hiatus as well because of the renovations.
