തമിഴ്‌നാട്ടിലെ കന്യാകുമാരി ജില്ലയിൽ, തിരുവനന്തപുരം-നാഗർകോവിൽ ദേശീയപാതയരികിലെ പുലിയൂർ കുറിച്ചിയിലെ ഒരു കോട്ടയാണ്
ഉദയഗിരി കോട്ട. ഏകദേശം 90 ഏക്കർ സ്ഥലത്ത് വ്യാപിച്ചു കിടക്കുന്നു വേളിമലയുടെ 260 അടി ഉയരമുള്ള ഭാഗത്തു നിർമിച്ച കെട്ടിടംകൂടി ഉൾപ്പെടുന്നതിനാൽ, വലിയൊരു പ്രദേശം ഇവിടെ നിന്നും കാണാൻ സാധിക്കും. വനംവകുപ്പിനുകീഴിലെ ജൈവവൈവിധ്യ ഉദ്യാനം ഇന്നിവിടെ സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്യുന്നു. വിവിധതരം ചെറിയ പക്ഷിമൃഗാദികൾ ഈ സംരക്ഷിത പ്രദേശത്തു് കാണപ്പെടുന്നു
തിരുവിതാംകൂറിന്റെ ആയുധപ്പുരയും സൈനികപരിശീലനകേന്ദ്രവുമായിരുന്ന ഉദയഗിരിക്കോട്ട. കോട്ടയ്ക്കുള്ളിൽ പലതരം യുദ്ധോപകരണങ്ങളുടെ അവശിഷ്ടങ്ങളുമുണ്ട്. കോട്ടയിൽ ഡച്ച് മുദ്രകൾ പേറുന്ന ശവക്കല്ലറ, തിരുവിതാംകൂറിന്റെ സൈനിക ഉപദേഷ്ടാവായിരുന്ന ക്യാപ്റ്റൻ ഡിലിനോയുടേതാണ്.
Location
The fort in Tamil Nadu is located 14 kilometres (8.7 mi) from Nagercoil in Thuckalay Town, Kanyakumari District on the Thiruvananthapuram-Nagercoil National highway at Puliyoorkurichi.
The tombs of the Dutch Admiral Eustachius De Lannoy, (in whose honour the fort was once called Dillanai Kottai- De Lennoy's Fort), and of his wife and son can still be found inside a partly ruined chapel in the fort.
De Lannoy's body was buried within the fort and a chapel was built at his burial site. De Lannoy's tombstone lies within the walls of the ruined chapel. The inscriptions on his stone are both in Tamil and in Latin. His wife and son were buried by his side.
