The UD6 engine symbolizes UD Trucks, both in spirit and name. It was first produced in 1955, delivering 230 horsepower yet weighing 40% less than conventional truck engines at the time. When it debuted, it was one of the world’s lightest engines per horsepower.
The UD6 engine powered the company’s popular 6TW and T80 trucks. Recently, the UD6 engine was restored by our engineers. See how it was done and their reaction when it is fired up for the first time in decades!
UD6エンジンとは、ＵＤトラックスの現在の社名の由来となったエンジンです。1955年に発売され、当時「世界でもっとも1馬力あたりの重量が軽いエンジン」として世界中で高く評価され、『力のＵＤ』の象徴となったエンジンです。ＵＤを代表する6TWトラックやT80トラックに搭載されました。

もっと音を聴かせて欲しい
UDの2ストエンジン…いいですねぇ…4ストのV8もいいけどこれはかつてのデトロイトディーゼルを彷彿とさせるようでたまらない…
このUDエンジンが有ったこそ今のUDトラックスの源であると思いましたね🤩
今や自社開発のエンジンが無くて寂しいですね。
ボンネットバスで、UD3の音聞いたケド… 弾ける様な高音、最高でした(^^) UD6って、どんな音するンだろ？

2サイクルの時は良かった ふそうのV8が30t積んで登れない山を6気筒で登った 4サイクルになってダメになった
I wish the ud6 and the pd6t were in modern trucks. The gh7 is not a nice engine to drive with a manual transmission. I much prefer the mechanical injection engines where the throttle response is exactly the same every time you press it. Makes shifting gears easier, you can feel one with the truck, with the modern electronic throttle, you must argue with the truck all day instead of working as a team.
