I've played almost all the games, and I own most of them. I'm so disappointed that they pulled this crap on the one setting I've been waiting for forever. I won't play this because of DEI. I hope this game loses money.

The devs said in an interview for why there are two characters, is that a samurai character can't be both samurai and assassin because it doesn't "work" or seemed "right", they said it was to difficult to float the balance between those two concepts. Fucking what! Ghost of Tushima did it perfectly and to this day is my definitive Japanese Assassins Creed game. Period.

The Canadian writer decided a BBS was better than a basic Japanese man. Let's throw in some Chinese decor and a Masterpiece was born.

Me personally if you're going to do Japanese setting then it should be as either a Shinobi aka Ninja, or as a vagrant Ronin who's clan was wiped out.

If he was just a character with some side missions you see or fight against or with. It would be fine. He shouldn't be a main character for a game series about conspiracies, isu nonsense, and untold event time-line stories. Since the dude already has alot going in the very brief time he's in Japan.

Also here's the problem with this situation. It ain't just about having a black samurai. Even if the samurai was Asian, it still wouldn't make sense to have a samurai in the game that's called assassin's creed. Samurai's are not assassins. Because with samurai's, they believe that doing things behind the backs of people and assassinating them is cowardly and there's no honor in that. And doing those things goes completely against their code. And the moment you break the samurai code, you're no longer a samurai. And can never redeem yourself. Or be accepted back.

If they wanted to include Yasuka they could have had him on the side and maybe a single dedication mission or two that features him helping the main character, or just have him be there as a retainer. Instead ubisoft and their DEI, ESG crap decided to muck it up and destroy what could have been a good game.

Watched Blade the other day, his race was never mentioned once.

They could just did a side quest or part of the story instead of making him a main character. Im sure there were lots of other Japanese samurai in that era.

As a brother with locs who loves ninja stuff, I’m happy to see a black samurai. BUT man, I’ve always wanted AC based in Japan with the hopes to use an actual shinobi. Of course,I figured it would be a male Japanese dude….didn’t see this one coming though 😂😂😂. They could’ve at least made the the female a Japanese male I guess if they still wanted to use Yasuke. 😞, why won’t they just make an AC game with character creation that way everyone is happy.

Tenchu Stealth Assassins needs to make a comeback. I loved Ghosts of Tsushima and Jin, but I really miss Rikkimaru and Ayame.

To be honest. This is good. Maybe if Ubisoft collapses and shuts down, other game companies might come to their senses and stop trying to go woke. They had so many other options for main characters, they could have still had him in as a side character/historical character and probably people wouldn't have cared. The one Assassin Creed games almost every AC fan wanted and was an easy massive cash grab for them and they still fucked it up. I really wanted a Japanese one since the first one. But this won't even be worth pirating.

As a somewhat history game, I liked the Idea I really did. Especially after Rise of the Ronin came out and Ghost of Tsushima came to PC. Hell yea, we love it. Now making Yusuke a MAIN mentor from what it seems is crazy. He would’ve made a amazing guest appearance

You know how they couldn't resolve this. Just make the player create their character fully customisable. So I don't have to be stuck with a character that I'm not interested in.

We've been wanting an AC Japan game for years and each protagonist represented was always accurate to the country that the games are represented in. Nothing against Yusuke but he could've been made as a dlc character. I think Naoe's father would've been a better character. A fathef/daughter dynamic team.

I remember being 15 in high school when AC1 came out. I played the first few, they were amazing games. We could not wait until Japanese samurai culture was eventually explored. Well... here I am. 32 years old with 3 kids and this is what they shovel at us. I haven't played the last I don't know... TEN assassin's creed games because they're crap but this is a staggering new low.
