Just Stop should just stop cooking with his theory. Captain Lazerhawk was announced in 2019, one year before Edgerunner's announcement. The timeline do not match for this to be a rip off. Plus it would imply that this show was made in only a year which should get goddam praised if that was the case.

That makes me feel that Rayman and Bullfrog are real and de facto duo protagonists of Captain Lasershawk.

The fact that the only thing people are bringing up whenever this show comes up is Rayman, a character who isn't even considered part of the main team and has like 5-8 minutes of screentime isn't giving me the best first impressions.

I didn't really get edgerunner vibes from it, but than again, i didn't really try to draw similarities. In terms of the main premise, expendable criminals used to work for the government was obviously a reference to suicide squad, but the use of various ubisoft characters reminded me of an old cartoon called Captain N (i think from the 90s). Still, this series had a novel story, while in Captain N, the main character gets sucked into his TV and meets various nintendo characters (the vampire hunter from Castlevania, mega man, pit from Kid icarus and a bunch of others, including the main villain being mother from Meteroid)

Honestly I was personally surprised that they actually use the Templars from assassin‘s creed as the big bad in this which is pretty faithful towards the assassin creed series.🐱

Dumbsville's intro was over the top while Just Stop's was relatable af.

Honestly? I find it a great idea to hire internet artists for big projects, SPECIALLY NSFW artists. Look. If anyone knows about expressive faces, fluid movement, and great timing, it's NSFW artists. Just saying

12:17 because as we all know it’s definitely possible to make an animated series on this level in a year. Also this series was first announced in 2019 and then officially for Netflix in 2021 sooo. I’m haven’t even seen the show and honestly it doesn’t seem like my jam at all but that “evidence” really bugged me.

This show seems neat. It's funny to me how Sam Fisher's old ass literally cannot get a break ever, yet we've yet to see another Splinter Cell game. Sucks Pagan Min got shafted though. Great villain. Also, it's interesting that Pan lives on a spaceship, meanwhile he's compatriots live in derelict buildings. Kinda feels like a subtle class allegory. Alternatively, Pan's ship is comparable to a Nurgle vessel. A spaceship so foul that living in a derelict building is a preferable alternative.

I think Just Stop makes some good videos but my god the guy needs to watch more Cyberpunk media, the comparisons between Edgerunners and Laserhawk is common in the Cyberpunk genre.

...okay, you have my interest. This series kinda reminds me of "There Will be Brawl", a fan-made Nintendo-based web series directed by none other than Matt Mercer... though I had no idea who he was until I got into Critical Role. Looking back on it now is kinda weird...

Honestly, I really agreed with Dumbsville on that Pagan Min opinion. Pagan is my favorite Far Cry villain, and it sucks that they just took him and made him very generic and nothing like his Far Cry 4 self

Captain laserhawk had so much potential but it was wasted due to the lack of character development for the “main” characters. I’m suppose to feel bad that jade peige and laserhawk are dead but I’ve been given no reason to feel that way. It makes sense the the frog and rayman got all the attention I mean they are the only characters who are interesting and actually developed well

He tries to keep Pey'j from killing Min (Laserhawk encourages it, but Bullfrog tries), he warns Laserhawk that taking revenge won't make him feel better (something that Laserhawk admits is true later in the simulation, and even calls Bullfrog "the kindest assassin he's ever known), and is the major reason why Raymon turns on Eden. I didn't know CinemaSins was with us.

@@Neoncaffeine An April Fools Joke that came early if you will. I suppose in the end Ubisoft figured this was one of those "Nothing Ventured, Nothing Gained" type scenarios. I for one am supportive of more companies doing something like this as this the opposite of the practices of oh let's say Nintendo who's always playing it way too safe and/or being way too over protective of it's IP's. A company who doesn't now even want you to play it's games at tournaments "Charity, Local, or Otherwise" lest it accidentally hurt the brand.

Man the juststop part of the video really is "why you have to be so negative all the time"

While I did enjoy the show I think what ultimately held Captain Laserhawk back is the number of episodes the series was given. Its clear that due to only having six episodes they didn't have time to develop certain aspects of the show or get attached to certain characters, I have zero idea on how shows get their episode number so I can't say wether or not the series was ment to have more episodes or that the first 3 episodes were ment to be season 1 and the last 3 were ment to be season 2 but it was cut down to only six, if anyone has more knowledge on it feel free to explain The best example of this is with Jade and Pey'j's deaths. It's clear that they wanted their deaths to be kinda like the dropping of the mic moment (especially Jade's death) showing that our main characters could die at any moment, but it doesn't work because we're not given any time to grow an attachment to Jade or Pey'j since they die in episode 2 and 3 respectfully. It's especially hard to grow attached to them if you have no idea about Beyond Good and Evil, so when characters talk about how much they miss them, you don't really care because we spend so little time with them. It's the same problem with Serah's true colours and motivation being revealed. While it's a interesting idea to have Sam Fishers daughter be the main villain and Serah does become a lot more fun when she allowed to act as evil as she wants, but again due to to the limited episodes we don't get the time to grow attached to Serah so when it's revealed she's the true main villain the audience feels less betrayed and more like "Oh ok I guess your the villain now" it doesn't help that they made it WAY too obvious that she was had ulterior motives and was gonna be revealed to actually be evil I think this problem is why Bullfrog and Rayman are consider the best part of the show, not only are they both interesting characters with well pased stories and arcs, but people were able to grow attached to them because they were giving time to care about them and what happened to them or could happen I know I may sound really harsh and I wanna make it clear that despite my problems with shows pacing and handling with certain characters, I really respect what the crew was able to accomplished with just six episodes, I just really hope if Netflix gives the green light for another season of Laserhawk, the crew is allowed to have more episodes for season 2 so they can give time to the world and characters

Forget Endgame, THIS is the best crossover of all time!

Man Rayman in this show is like Robert de Niro character in Martin Scorsese's Taxi Driver (1976) with a bit of Jonny quest from Venture bros and a bit of Joaquin Phoenix's Joker in the mix and also the idea of Rayman and Robert de Niro it's kind of creative in the way i think of him in the show he's just like Travis bickles from Taxi Driver maybe i think of him of him as "Rayman de Niro" in this show man I'm so clever at names character i just said please thank me for the Rayman de Niro Your welcome and also Taxi Driver is a great film I know so we need a version of Taxi Driver will Rayman as the lead.

Not that I necessarily even disagree, I really just wanted to mention how my gay dinosaur comic the character who bullfrog is the fursona of. As in, yeah take that for not understanding why Bullfrog is French! Also for not understanding why people like Rayman I guess? Idk I just think I have a better cyberpunk dystopia series without it even being intended to be a cyberpunk dystopia. It’s just a bird version of the world we live in but with also aliens that are millipede people.

So if Lazerhawk can comeback from getting his head blown up... the writers can bring back any of the other characters that died.
