    Your video is a life saver. Would be cool to see the setup tutorial but with the iOS app only.

    I saw briefly that the “Ethernet” details on the dashboard for the station (ie not the AP) is blank. I have the same issue, the station isn’t connecting to my LAN. tried everything, different 24v injectors, cables, swapping them (Ethernet active when same device is in AP mode)…no joy. The connection between the devices is rock solid. Wondering if you have battled with the same issue, or, more likely what new and inventive way I have managed to screw up. Any thoughts?

    Great video. I wish you could do one on the same radios but showing how to use the survey tool to see the other local radios and then reprogram the operating frequency. If you change the AP freq does it automatically program the station side or do you have to log into both to do so. I have 2 of these set up as a bridge approx. 200' apart and they drop out for a few minuets 3-4 times a day. I do know the area where I have them has a lot of other wireless stuff on the same property like 5 acer area in the city. I have looked for a lot of videos and have not really seen to many people troubleshooting on the propagation side of things.

    I will try and make some time soon to do a video on that portion, you do have to manually change both sides but if you do the station side first then the ap side sometimes you get lucky and can do them both but otherwise you are walking around physically plugging in

    Fantastic. I’d be keen to know why you don’t use dynamic IP in the Network Management Settings. And why even after naming the SSID they still transmit a much longer name.

  • @preciselyguessing

    @preciselyguessing

    5 ай бұрын

    If you use a dynamic ip it is harder to find it later, there are advantages but setting it static makes trouble shooting esier at a later date, and im not sure about the name part, usually they only transmit what I have named them, maybe I we are looking at something differant

    what you are referring to in an access point, these serve a different purpose, these are not for broadcasting wifi so to speak but to transfer data from one location to another

    My PC reads "not connected" under the ethernet settings. Could that be an IP issue? The port on my pc works fine with my other devices. I can pick up the wireless signal of the Loco, did the setup as per video but the SSID doesn't change it stays are device name/model number. I've reset the devices twice already but the Ethernet still reads "Not Connected"

  • @preciselyguessing

    @preciselyguessing

    Yes, it's possible that the ac picked up a differant ip already, try defaulting the nano station and then don't connect it to network untill you have found it, or hop on the wireless and find what ip it chose and put your computer on the same ip scheme

    Could be that something is sharing the frequency and at that time it knocks it out, try changing the frequency so something on the other end of the spectrum

    I've got the two devices connected to one another. But I'm confused what to do next? When i take the sexond unit, thats not plugged into the router, to my second home, how do i get the wifi going? Do i need to connect the second ac5 to a switch or access point?

  • @preciselyguessing

    @preciselyguessing

    4 ай бұрын

    Yes, you will need to have the transmit side connected to your router/modem and the receiving side will need to connect to an access point, they do not put out wifi on their own that you can just connect to from, if there is only one wired device it could be run straight off of the nano otherwise a switch is needed

    So, I apparently entered my user name or password wrong on the second unit and can't connect. Is there any to do a hard reset on the second unit, or anyother way to access it? Great video!

  • @preciselyguessing

    @preciselyguessing

    10 ай бұрын

    No if you have it wrong you have to reset it, it's fairly simple and nothing to worry about, there is a small reset button on the bottom, use a pin and you will press it, remove power, press the button, while holding button re-insert power, hold button for 10 more seconds, leave plugged in, repeat untill it resets, might time a minit or so to boot up after reset

    is there a way to use an NS5AC as a bridge client on an existing wifi network where there is no other Unifi hardware? I am trying to pick up from my house wifi and bridge over to my shops wired Network.

  • @preciselyguessing

    @preciselyguessing

    9 ай бұрын

    You do not need an existing ubiquity network to use them for instance you can have a netgear router on your house, run the nanostation off the netgear,bridge to the shop, have a seperate netgear router in the shop that is run by the nanostation

    @@preciselyguessing I have been through and through the settings, it shows every WAP in the list as not compatable. I found several things showing it will only connect as a client to a compatable AP that uses airMAX AC... I am now trying to flush out the Ubiqity FW and put in OpenWrt or DD-WRT. If those dont work then to the bin with this thing.

    @justsumdad3185 sorry you are having so much trouble, a little confused why it's not working, I have in the past had them have trouble connecting to eachother and all of the problems were steming from that, I have only ever set these up as a client from the cloud controller 1 time, every other time have been on a system with no other ubiquity gear, let me know what your end result is
