Uber and Lyft have now been forced to pay drivers $32.50 per hour. I think we all know where we're moving too!

Can someone that lives there confirm it. I might have to go spend at least 6 months there myself. It would be worth living in my car working there.

I drive Uber eats in Boston and somehow Uber will find a way to defy this law and won't pay the drivers the new wage in any way.

Uber, doordash, lyft, etc used to be mainly citizens who got laid off, needed a flexible schedule, college students etc. now all these benefits are going to the asylum seekers coming into the country because they don’t know what else to do so they buy a car, use google translate and pick up food and drop it off for $32 an hour. Even a nurse doesn’t make that on average. When you go to restaurants to pick up orders it’s people from different countries and maybe 1 or 2 locals

I'm sure this wage intervention will finish destroying the market for all drivers just like it did in other areas. There will be customer push back, likely from higher prices, plus, with driver saturation (drivers coming in from other states) there won't be enough orders to support the total # of drivers.

Yeah, I live here. The cost of living is high. You're more than welcome to come here. It's super busy.😂 Logan Airport is the place to be. Boston is off the charts busy. Just stay out of south Boston. Hahaha On average they guaranteed 35 dollar's an hour and most people didn't get. 21 an hour for uber eates and most people were not making that.

@@ginam6691 I had a job both times I was homeless, you have tons of money cause you have no bills. You just need a gym membership. Take a sauna and shower every morning and go to work. I met dudes who gave up their apartments, with good paying jobs to live out of a backpack/tent and save every penny for a few years.

And timing is everything. Only have to run it for what about 130 days until election time Then it can be reversed overturned. Like in Seattle and Cali with the min wage thing they passed that resulted in a 44% decline in food delivery orders and mass Layoffs for fast food workers. See they did that too early so it's not even gonna last until the election there. I think your avg. corporation will tell you that they spend the equivalent of 50% on employee benefits vs wages. The workman's compensation, the companies half of FICA contributions, insurance, holiday/vacation pay, 401k/ira matching contributions, tuition reimbursement etc...

Sure lmao. Enjoy paying a crap load for that trip…
@dmi1571Ай бұрын
Surely that's not straight wages. They are figuring equivalent benefit costs like $16/hr wages and the equivalent of $16 or whatever in estimated benefits. Nevertheless a win is a win I guess

$32 is actually just the right and should be mininum payment for drivers. You use your own car, own gas etc. After expenses, u earn $20 per hour.

Race has nothing to do with it. California raised it's minimum wage recently and they have tons of black people Mexican people Asian people and all kinds of minorities. So that statement is pretty ignorant.
