I drove Lyft and Uber for several years before the pandemic. The reality is that most of the customers were actually really nice. Most people are not out to hassle the driver. They just want to get to work, school etc. I drove mostly days so most people were not intoxicated or high. When I did get drunk people they usually just fell asleep on the ride home. Of course if you drive long enough you will get some good stories. I drove a convicted murder (a woman) who spent 25 years in jail. I drove another guy who said his coworker at the construction company tried to kill him by dropping a beam on his shoulder. I also drove a lady several times who told me she was a witch. At least it wasn't dull!

You're letting the general public into your car. I would never let the general public into my car.

As a part time uber and lfyt driver i absolutely salute you brother and know and have seen many many worse types.. i do the same exact thing.. if they fuck up and dont listen and respect the rider and driver side of things riding in someone car for a ride they could go fuck them selves and ive got a camera after a while my self... so much toxic shit people out there its fucking worth every penny to be recording these assholes and their alikes.. also not everyone is a complete asshole, you do actually meet lots of pretty good kind hearted nice people and quiet people who just mind their business them are are nices rides just smooth crusing slight music bumbin everybody their own business and just chilling vibin while making a few extra buck on the side.

Clearly their mommy’s gave them everything they wanted. Can someone say entitled?

This sentence literally doesn't make any sense. If you offer a service, that literally makes you a servant... what's bad about being a servant? Serving and providing people with things is a wonderful thing. Why not be a servant? Do you feel too high and mighty to call yourself a servant? Or do you look down upon other servant's 🤔 there is nothing wrong with being a servant. Servants deserve respect too, they offer a lot to people, you shouldn't speak down on SERVants especially if you are someone who offers a SERVice yourself. Servant and service literally have the same root definitions

As a part time Lyft driver whenever I get a group of passengers and they are doing the most it’s a big distraction when I’m trying to focus on the road and get them to their destination safely. It’s ok to have a little fun but it doesn’t take much to ask the driver before messing with the radio, I mean some people act as if it’s their car or we are best buddies and not complete strangers. To avoid these type of situations I normally only accept five star riders or maybe 4.9 sometimes but anything lower than that is normally a big red flag the rider is going to a headache.

This is like the stereotypical portrayal of American teenagers in every single movie/tv show

I have 4.7 rating as a rider and I don’t know why. I don’t open the window or request songs. I say hello how are you and thank you. If they like to talk then we have a convo, if I get a quiet person I stay quiet.

There are lots of possible reasons. Do you make drivers wait for you to show up after requesting them and they arrive? Is your hygiene and body oder good? Do you reek of anything else like cigarette smoke? Do you eat or drink in the car? Do you sit right behind the driver instead of the far side where they’d feel safer? Do you put in accurate pickup location details of where you’re actually standing roadside or do they have to search for you? Are you careful when loading luggage to not scuff the door trim or back bumper? Do you ask if they’d mind you making phone calls before doing so? Do you slam their door after exiting? These are all unpleasant for a driver for example.
