The master of all reciters Answar who were known for memorizing the quran (1)Zaid ibn thabit (2)Muadh ibn jabar (3)ubbay ibn kaab He was one of the few companions who could read and write before islam The difference between ubbay and the other two reciters is that he was same age with prophet ' he had white hair he didnt have black hair ' Zaid and Muadh were young Prophet told the companion take the quran from 4 people (1)Abdullah ibn masoud (2)Muadh ibn jabar (3)Salim maula ibn abi hudhaifa (4)Ubbay ibn kaab The best of them in recitation of quran is ubbay ibn kaab And the best of them in understanding Halal and Haram is Muadh ibn jabar And the best of them in understanding in heritance law is Zaid ibn thabit In the incident where the grand son of prophet passed away 'zainab sent a message to her father , Rasululah was sitting with Ubbay and musab Zainab said to the prophet "Yaa Rasululah he is breathing his last" Rasululah replied "verily Allah takes what belongs to him and he gives what belongs to him and he has appointed the time for every person so let her be patient and seek reward from his prophet " Zainab said Ya rasululah I need you to come Rasululah went with Saad ibn ubada (leader of answar /master of answar) and Ubbay and Musab He priviledged the people of quran amongst everyone else even in janaza One day Rasululah asked Ubbay " what part of the quran that you have memorized that is the greatest of all?" Greatest part Ubbay said " Ayat kursi yu" Prophet stood up and walked near ubbay and kept his hand on his chest One day Prophet was with Ubbay ' And then he told him " Yaa Ubbay Allah has commanded me to recite Quran to you" Ubbay Was shocked and he said " you mean I was mentioned by Allah" Prophet said " Yes he mentioned you by your name" Ubbay was happy he started to cry Prophet recited to him Surat Baiyina One day Ubbay Had a fever ' he asked Prophet " Ooh Messenger of Allah what is the reward of fever" Rasululah said " restores many of good deeds" Ubbay asked Allah for pepetual fever that wont restrict him from doing other prayers like going to masjid ' going to war Quraish came to Prophet ' asked him about Allah lineage Allah's nasb ( thats when surat ikhlaswi : qul huwa lahu ahad .. was brought) Ubbay memorized quran Over 8 nights To be continued In Shaa Allah
