9:31 sells this track for me. I think Atlantica is my favorite track from the TAG chapters.

i just want to praise something other than the amazing mix, thank you for the backgrounds so we dont have to look at a static png, it makes it alot easier to watch thanks Ancero.

You're welcome, that's exactly why I go with that route. Instead of showing the arenas where you play or having gameplay in the background I think it makes sense to showcase the incredible skyboxes while the music is playing as a background element. Makes for a nice screensaver effect even if you mute the video just to have something playing.

UAC Atlanticuh has one of the coolest designs ( imo) and the music combined with the visuals make it my my favourite level in Tag 1

There was a mod for that at one point! After the opening arena, instead of a Dreadknight breaking through the door to surprise you, it's a possessed Marauder. I don't think I ever finished that Master Level on Nightmare.

Yenno, I’ve never thought about this, the sound that at the beginning is really reminiscent of boat horns. Hmm. I doubt that was purposeful, but I just now thought about it

It probably was intentional, Eternal's soundtrack is infamous for capturing the settings you're in really well, down to using different instruments or simulating sounds that would come from an environment and then turning them into instruments

If I may leave my two cents here. The Ambience in Atlantica is the best in any game I’ve ever experienced, all thanks to David Levy. Though this and Immora’s Super Heavy Combat themes are incredible, Andrew’s Blood Swamps and Dark Lord OSTs are supreme, as Mick’s works in every level of 2016 and Eternal are godly. Edit: Also, how rude of me, your mixes Anecro are beyond compare, well done, fam!

Excellent! Atlantica soundtrack is underrated compared to how popular Blood Swamps (and Trial of Maligog in particular) are, but it does have a unique "tech" (?) vibe to it which makes it not only perfect for the level of the actual game, but also just so enjoyable!

@@silence7896it’s definitely industrial buts incredibly seay and shipy too. It’s really maritime. It’s got the synths in the ambience that sounds like lightning crashes from the storms and foghorns and the meathook part sounds like a sonar ping.

unpopular opinion, but I find this to be the best level from both DLCs. This and the Blood Swamps, its pretty close

You made it sir! if you remember my comment from your older UAC ambience with the best ambience part missing, it's the one which starts at 0:22. Pure gold. You did a great job and David Levy of course as well! :).

When you go out and see everything is on fire was very doomish massive 2016 vibes because it's like a facility that is going to self destruct (which is already)

You can definitely hear David's background in movie/tv music in this mix. Not a bad thing! I was watching Zach Snyder's Justice League and said out loud "It'd be cool to see David Levy do a DC movie". Either way, great mix!

Damn, you know it's a good ambience section when all it makes you feel is the excitement, the fear of an impending battle; then the battle begins, buts somehow it's still just building, always building... And then the Real battle begins, and it's all Hell breaking loose. Amazing. ❤️

One of my favorite bits is at 8:27 and I don't see a lot of people talking about it, the droning is so friggin cool

Them starting the new music production off with this level first was smart, this track goes so hard especially when the heavy portion kicks in. The momentum and energy in that bit is too good.

I realised something else: I often listen to this in the car on the way home so have rarely looked at the timestamps. I had always thought that Heavy Fighting began at 8:53, because that's what felt so right to me. The transition there just gives me an "Oomph" every time. It's not a hard hit, but it's deep.

That's the buildup, I purposely left that gritty, low tone bit for the end of the light fighting to transition between the types, thought it fit pretty well

@@anecro Mate, it's perfection. Can I ask, how difficult is it to get hold of the raw audio files from the game? And what software did you use to stitch all the stems together?

@@cowlump It's pretty straightforward actually. Here's a guide: www.reddit.com/r/Doom/comments/fn1ra7/guide_extracting_all_the_music_from_doom_eternal/ And the software I use is Shotcut, a free video editing program. I don't use any fancy audio centered software since it's basically playing building blocks with the music, dragging and dropping each file and see how well it fits with the previous ones, plus that way I skip a part that can have an effect on the audio's quality, that being editing the mix in another software, exporting it and then importing it into an editing video software just to actually create a video for youtube.
