Bono looked so smooth n cool during the Zoo years.

I watched this MTV clip when it first aired. I was a huge U2 fan then and now. When Bono said they didn't need the pop kids, I jumped off my couch, my hands became fists and I yelled "YEAH!!!!!" on pure instinct. This was exactly what I needed to hear from him and he delivered! Thanks Bono!

Yes, this Zoo TV show was fantastic. Probably the best live show I have ever seen (or will see).

After straying away from them for a couple of years,this was when I got back into U2. The whole ZOO TV, Acthung era is my favourite time in the history of this great Irish band. Proud to be Irish. Proud of this band.

I became a U2 fan during this time and I miss they way the band was back then. I don't care if it was real or an act - that U2 is the U2 I fell in love with. They are still a great band but too worried about what everyone thinks of them. Bono needs to find the Fly again...that was the best thing he or any other rock star has ever done.

I love this side of Bono. It’s all a facade. Total act. This is the guy that preached through half his concerts three years earlier. It’s incredible watching him pull off the rockstar roll. And you can bet your ass that everything flip he said was well measured. All so he could smoke cigarettes instead of playing Jesus. Hilarious. Love him.

In the 80's I had absolutely no interest in U2, I thought they were boring and couldn't understand their huge appeal but in 1991 with The Fly, Bono's new style (and Bollé Lunasport glasses!), Achtung Baby and the Zoo Tv Tour I truly became a fan. Sometimes all it takes is a new haircut, it's simply Rock n Roll :-)

Yeah it certainly paved the way for what they would be become 25 years later , they may of been the biggest band of the 80 s but achtung baby's creative genius showed that they were here to stay , what a comeback and what a statement of which you ll never see the likes of again .

God, I remember watching this live on MTV. That was the only place to get any kind of news back then about U2. I couldn't wait for them to get to New York. My first concert ever at 19, I felt so old. That feeling of awe in the 11th row will never leave me. Bono just walking out with a cigarette singing those lines I could never really figure out, right before Zoo Station. To that 14 year old kid, enjoy your memories of the 360 tour. When I saw this in 92, I wished I was at the Joshua Tour.

l miss the Bono that doesn't give a shit. That was rock and roll. The political Bono serves its purpose but the Fly wins my vote any day of the week.

He's pretending not to give a shit here. U2 turned to performed insincerity in this era as a response to backlash from Rattle and Hum.

the music of U2 from 1987 to 1993 just great, and Bono in the Achtung Baby era, Zooropa was like a kind of musicians superhero ... nobody reached his ankles and everyone wanted to imitate him...

U2 is a journey, it's always something else, more and deeper

This is the time they got all visual with there music creation. Brilliant!

"We might lose some of the pop kids but we don't need them". That was the u2 that I loved. Today, they are making silly pop songs to win over the pop kids that they once couldn't care for. If only young Bono could have a heart to heart with old Bono, perhaps old Bono would learn a thing or two.

Once Bono was trying to be Morrison or Elvis, these days he's trying to be Adele, that's how bad things are.

I love that arrogant Bono rocker, wish he'd return :)).

I think this is the best Tour in the life of U2, the songs of the Achtung Baby album are like the art... poetry.

i don't get why they are always questioning song choices,it's their gig they play whatever the hell they like. Why are people dissapointed?if you wanna hear that song play it yourself,artists are not there to please you,they are there to blow your mind to smithereens.

I have listened to U2 the day I was born (im 15 btw) My dad was a u2 fanatic and would always play joshua tree. When he gave me my first ipod, he filled it with all of their albums. I selected achtung baby and thought "WHAT THE HELL IS THIS SHIT". could not get into at the time but within a year, i decided to listen to it again and fell in love with it. People say joshua tree is their best album. I say Achtung Baby is the greatest album ever.

I've seen U2 9 times and the Zoo Station shows from Minneapolis and Kansas City are by far the best! Although, I was too young for War, Unforgatable Fire and Joshua Tree tours. Love this post!

The Zoo TV/Zooropa era was U2 at its coolest point. I'd have done anything to get into those shows. I like the U2 we have now. But I LOVE the U2 of back then.

I saw them three times for this tour. Byrne Arena, Giants Stadium and Yankee Stadium.

Bono is just too cool for skool. What a way to let your feelings be known. No beating around the bush. A bit rude? Yeah. But so what! We're all grown ups and after all, you're talking to a rock star at a rock concert and entirely missing the whole point of the Zoo TV tour and the many months/years spent working on new material and stage designs. Why do people get so stuck in the past? They're just Stuck in a Moment and they can't get out of it.

I love watching what was once MTV. Also, what really gives me chills is the part at the end when Kurt says that One will SOON BE released.. WOW... just thinking that ONE wasent even released yet as a single just gives me chills....man has time passed us by,

Born in 1981, I feel the same. I wish I was 10 years older in the 80s and 90s so I could experience the eras of U2 I never did.

Great video, I can't believe the first Zoo show was in a civic center in Florida?! Very humble beginings but it's no surprise the show caught on and went on to become a giant spectacle that propelled U2 to super-stardom.

Yes they made me feel better back then. In the nineties everything was about the end of ideologies, socialism, history, everything, and they made it feel pretty exciting. They turned it into a freedom.

There are robots, concerts where the whole venue is a fucking video screen, U2 (mostly), the birth of artificial intelligence, Brian Eno is still here, magical computer/TVs you can hold in your hand, and of course, flying cars! All these years later and there's never been anything to touch it, it just goes to show how lazy and cheap the so called superstar bands and "Artists" of today really are, Love them or hate them U2 have to be considered the greatest band in history......name another? who have the same original line up, still touring with new material and albums still hitting top ten chart places all over the world.

amazing....is there anyone can say they are not the best rock band in the whole world? I went to see this in 1993 in Naples. fantastic can't forget that night, actung baby is one of their best album ever made.

This is part of the week in rock program (MTV) which was shown on Sunday March 1, 1992. The first show in Lakeland Florida was on Saturday February 29, 1992. They played Miami on Sunday March 1, 1992 but Kurt Loder did not mention that instead mentioning that the next concert would be Tuesday March 3, 1992 in Charlotte North Carolina.

I wish the band would nowadays forget "Sunday Bloody Sunday" and "New Year's Day" and maybe play rarer stuff. I like that Bono didn't care about bellweather fans. I especially like his lack of interest in targetting "the pop kids". New Bono could learn a thing or two about his artistic approach and setlist choice from 1992 Bono. I miss him.

But that's what I like...a rock star with some attitude and balls. It's rock n roll, not a hug fest.

Ahh... Those were the days. This was U2 at their high water mark. I'll always love them but I won't see them live anymore. It's gotten too big and ridiculous. They need to stop hanging out out with The Black Eyed Peas and Kanye and maybe start hanging out with Massive Attack. Just an opinion
