I remember seeing this on MTV. The only thing I recall is the cars, but I saw this a number of times. People act like it was hardly aired at all.

@@ld2588 At least for me, it is that there was not a decent HD version of this precise version of the video available on KZread, until 2 years ago when it premiered here, in U2's channel. I know it is not that big of a deal, but that's how we fans are sometimes.

I remember when Achtung Baby came out and thought how will they ever top this masterpiece, 30 years later it’s still my favorite rock album, every track was superbly different. Brian Eno and the production team made this U2 album the rock album of the century for me.

Because "Achtung Baby" was done in Berlin I go 1998 to live 2years there and find love on the love Parade there.. Never forget.. This feeling..

This album changed my life, I learned a lot. I became a diehard in 96 at the age of 14.

I understand all the complicated reasons that they decided to make the other versions of this video, but this version was the perfect video for this song. This video needed to be in Berlin, in the room where they found the song that saved them. Anton Corbijn did the rest flawlessly as he always does. This video carries a lot of the visual language of the album which makes it feel so perfect as well. I believe that using the Trabants was Anton's idea as well. A stunning video fit for U2's greatest song.

I finally found it!! I've been looking for this version of ONE for many years... it's a masterpiece.

well... it was only recently uploaded in HD. You COULDN'T find it for years.

This song is the reason I became a U2 fan back in 1992, and is the reason I am still one to this day. Their masterpiece.

i don't find the song heartbreaking at all (though i used to find it somewhat somber in tone), revisiting, with the help of Anton's video, i find there is nothing in the lyrics that is heart breaking, it is almost harshly real & then hopeful, facing the truth & giving strength

This live version portrays an aggressive approach to the song which was not the intention the song was to give an insight into a man’s pain and despair and how he coped with it and found a different source of happiness

The right band writes a song with the right lyrics and right message, in the right city at the right time. And then they had to go and make the right video on top of all that!

First heard this song playing over Images of 9/11 terrorised attacks in 2001 it was only a small snippet I wanted to know who sang it I eventually found out it was sung by a band called U2 and the album was called Achtung Baby I immediately went to the record store to purchase the CD It’s still my most favourite Album to date.

Same for me.. I guess a few millions of us would say so ! Strange how since that period I've been able to spend huge laps of time without listening to it.. probably because its strength and beauty is so big that once you've heard it, it remains in all your brain and body cells for so long you don't need to go again for it..
