I totally forgot about this song. Haven't heard it in a number of years. What a beautiful song.

This is haunting and beautiful at the same time. A lot of heartache and pain in the solo live version Sydney.

People seem to think Achtung Baby is this upbeat dance album....but some of it is as dark as U2 ever get...

After many many years being fan of U2 I saw this song Live at the Sphere 😢😢 in tears ❤

When I was growing up, my two older brothers were huge fans of this band. A few of their songs got my attention, a couple of them remain in my collection to this day. But this song pierced me in a way that nothing else U2 ever recorded, did. It's not so much the words, although I love the words in the first two verses it's more the slow and melancholy overtone of the whole song, that really spoke to the loneliness and hopelessness I was feeling at the time I first heard this song. High School voter with a death wish. Now I'm coming up on 48 years old and I have realized that the very best songs I have ever come across in my life never make the charts. They never get the respect and honor and attention they deserve.

Hauntingly prophetic song. A different sound from U2 that doesn’t get played very often.

This was the only time I was able to hear the guitar solo evoke the sound of a soul crying and bleeding at the same time, thank you Edge and Bono for demonstrating the dying of the spirit in this cold world.

The live version in Sidney from the ZooTV tour, is more touching and heartbreaking. Bono seems to dig in the deep of his soul sided with vibrating notes coming out from the Edge's guitar. They are magic together, and I love them all ❤⭐

I can't seem to find any suitable word to describe this song. Maybe epic or astonishing... I could call it a masterpiece but that's too easy. U2 have created many masterpieces. This is not their best song imo, but certainly one of their top creations.
