The specific way The Edge set the guitar/amp sound with digital delay, reverb, and chorus along with his usage of the slide proves he is the greatest special effects master of the past 35+ years!!! Incredible song!!!

This song is just as relevant today as it was 30 years ago. This song is so badass, the guitars, bass, drums, and lyrics are a work of art. Probably my favorite U2 song.

Bootleg collector here: it's not really uncommon at all. The tightest bands often sounded better onstage, as a unit playing in tandem. The chemistry is lost when everyone is tracking their parts individually.

I was there, when the flag came up, Jimi Hendrix’s Star Spangled Banner was playing. Both nights, I was at both shows!! BB King and his band opened, epic!

This concert (I was at the Denver show - the black and white portions of the film shot at McNichols Arena) STILL ranks as one of the best shows (after thousands) I've ever seen.

I’ve watched you in the crowd at list 1000 times this movie came out in 89 in Italy’s theatres the audience went bunkers was sold out every nights I’ve got it on video tape Not a U2 fan anymore though,,,,

Out of the hundreds of concerts I saw in the 70's and 80's, seeing U2 live was the best. This song never got the airplay it deserved.

It was glorious. After BB King, Hendrix’s Star Bangle Banner, then this. I was there both nights.

Seen these live twice, amazing band, loved them since I was 15yrs old. Still great today as they was back then.

The clarity of Bono's voice, the music....instruments......AMAZING!!

I was fortunate enough to see them live 5 times between '82 and '92- culminating with being in the third row at the Old Mile High Stadium on Achtung Baby Tour!!! Incredible memories and love this song to death...

"For the God I believe in isn't short of cash mister!" Great line & Awesome performance. Especially by the Edge. His guitar playing on this one was brilliant.

It'd be great of we didn't have idiots like Milto thinking that one of the greatest bands ever sold their soul, and itd be great if you could respect others faith. Yeah, it’s hard to pull off the angry young man thing when you’re worth half a billion dollars, own multiple homes and think nothing of hiring a private jet to fly your favorite shit kicker hat out to you. They were at the high water mark here, though, no doubt.

Bryan Davis , it was amazing to be there for it. I still remember it well. I was a young child and it effected me deeply.

I just got the chills listening to that.

I love this album....and Bullet the Blue Sky LIVE first heard on a High End stereo system sounded like nothing I had ever heard before....Guitar solo came to life, hairs on my arms stood up, and the brilliant words......CLASSIC! One of my All Time Favorites!

This is one of their best songs. Freaking awesome!!!

Founder of the band. He was the one who posted the looking for musicians to start a rock band note on the bulletin board at their school. There’s a bootleg of the McNichols Arena (Denver) show where they shot the B&W footage from R&H where they start playing Spanish Eyes, and Larry stops and says “Let’s start that again.” They do, and once they get rolling, Bono says “That’s Larry Mullen, Jr. there. He’s the leader of the pack!” One record co trying to sign them wanted them to replace Larry and the rest of the band turned them down flat. Tells you what his band mates think of Larry. Most musicians on the brink of getting signed would say “Sorry, Larry-you understand, right?”

The Edge's guitar work on that song is beyond awesome.

This is still my favorite version of this great song.

Saw these guys 12/5/87 and the show rocked from beginning to end, but the coolest part of BTBS is the spotlight bit at about 4:00-4:14. In the stadium, it seemed to “throw” the guitar sound where Bono was pointing it. I was tripping balls and it blew me away, and if you watch R&H in stereo, you can get a sense of it, so it wasn’t just my acid warped perception.

I saw them in SF during their first leg of The Joshua Tree tour. Amazing live. Watching the cable wrangler having to follow Bono around as he performed because his mic wasn't wireless was great. lol

I love the fact that U2 are political. They are more aware of what is going on than most politicians ✌🤞 This was filmed here in Tempe. I was on the outside enjoying the event. A spiritual experience

I was living in Tempe also back in 87 if I remember right. Also I remember in the news at the time some kid had painted his parents garage door with the picture of them that was on the Joshua Tree Album.

The God I believe in isn't short on cash mister! And the look on Adam Clayton's face towards the end. Priceless.

It's just not possible to play this song loudly enough.

What I'd give to be at a late 80's/early 90's U2 show

Was in the United States Army stationed in izmit Turkey tripping on mushrooms when I first heard this

I might be reading too much into it, but I wonder if the spotlight bit was Bono's way of telling the American audience, "Hey the spotlight's on you. Maybe you need to take a look at yourselves, and what your gov't is doing..."

He ment that Adam came up with this baseline that became 'Bullet ' More to the story is that Adam and Edge are actually very much apart from each other one this song, they are not synchronized with their instrumentes. It shouldn't work ,but it does. Antoher example on how much u2 managed to make music as a band, considering that in the early days they were a band before the learned to play. Btw, I read somewhere that on the Zoo tv tour, Adam had a very "heavy foot" on his bass ,that on the italian shows his bass was actually picked up on the Richters scale

the most amazing thing about U2 is their ability to totally rock AND have a socially conscious message!

I just got Klipsch speakers!! Oh the sweet sweet sexy sounds of the Rattle and Hum. ....I can see those fighter planes.

Surely one of the very best peices of rock music, including the lyrics F...g Awesome Needs to be played at 120 decibels !!

This song rocks ,From the opening of the drums then bass to guitar and then vocals ... With lyrics that actually have meaning ...strait up power house song ... I just love how there drummer pounds his snare drum and he crashes his cymbals with pure aggression.. but most of all the edges haunting guitar solo is makes the song stick ... One of my top ten favorites of all time...
