The U.S. Open presented by Go Bowling championship round brought the excitement as Kyle Troup start off the round with a bang as he was able to edge past Richard Teece to advance match two. In match two, Kyle Troup continued with the hot hand as he was able to comfortably move past Anthony Simonsen en route to match three. Within Match three, it was a back-and-forth battle, but Troup was able to pull away again as he advanced to the Championship. Between Troup and E.J. Tackett, Tackett proved to have just enough to pull away Troup and win the Triple Crown.

Which bowler were you rooting for to win it all?

I always root for the rookies. The round of 8 was great but got ot give Troup some serious props. I could be wrong but this was his first time even cashing at the open. I am not sure. But to go from the round of 8 like he did all the way to the championship match is tough to do. But EJ deserved it 100 percent!

@bowl now I remember seeing the standings and being surprised at not only his name but all the new names showing up at the top, feels like a nice changing of the guard in such a hard tournament. It's refreshing seeing all these up and coming great bowlers from across the world getting their chance in the spotlight.

Meh, another two hander with ugly form lol. There’ll just be another one in his place in future tournaments.
When Ej ignored the jackett and went straight to acknowledging Troup. That was class. Congrats EJ
E.J. Tackett is by far my favorite bowler ever! Mr. clutch does it again. The most gorgeous bowling style ever, that is now a TRIPLE CROWN WINNER! I love you, E.J.!

Hey FOX…how about covering the event from start to finish!! You really disrespected bowling both at the beginning (by letting a regular season women’s basketball game run over into the bowling) and at the end by ditching the celebration EJ deserved….as soon as they threw the jacket and trophy at EJ….you guys were outta there! If you don’t want to give bowling the coverage it deserves maybe let some other network do it!

Fox had to give priority to the women's basketball game. There were probably 4 or 5 people who were watching that game nationwide. I mean, seriously. Women's basketball generates the same level of viewership as, as...I can't come up with anything less watched. I was going to say curling or equestrian jumping, but I'm sure those events generate way more viewers.

Let's go! As a Hoosier myself I was rooting for EJ. So awesome to see him win. Also, it is super hard to root against Troop. I would have been happy with either outcome. Great bowling and two great guys! The PBA is in good hands and has a bright future.

Hoosier here as well! I bowled against EJ a few times way back in the day… we always knew he was destined for greatness. It’s awesome to see him wearing green 😊
As someone who competed against EJ in high school, it truly is awesome to see him accomplish what he has done. I knew in high school it was a special thing to beat EJ even if it was a team event thing. He continues time and time again to prove just how good and special a talent he truly is as well truly special as a person. Awesome to see him do what he is doing and represent Indiana like he is. Congrats EJ!

Same. From Bellmont, and we had someone from our place beat him in sectional after I graduated, but it meant so much for us at the time considering he was bowling nationals then. Previous year, my 245 in the Sectional Finals was no match in Bluffton with his 258 or whatever. Triple crown winner. He is a prodigy and it's awesome to see my lanes bowl, watch and root for him at once. We live vicariously through the greatest Indiana bowler ever.

@@CB-or6cb my senior year in 2010 we won state but if I’m being completely honest I judged our team against Huntington. In my mind back then I knew if we stayed ahead of them then we had a shot. I’ve always appreciated the talent and now even more so since I’ve pretty much quit bowling. He was always a good dude on and off the lanes and it’s just truly awesome to see what he is doing. Incredibly hard not to root for the guy.

Ej walking past the jackek to shake Kyle's hand and Kyle clapping and smiling as ej screams with excitement. true sportsmanship from both 👍👏

That was a very classy move by EJ. Walked right past the green jacket to shake hands with Kyle first. Can't say that it surprised me, though. Tackett has always been a class act.
Love seeing Tackett beat a two-hander!
So glad EJ Tackett won. Finally a 1 handed bowler back on top! 💪
When you look at the “what if’s” in the final match. Wow. This was a nail biter to the end. Very exciting to watch!
Yes EJ, TY for being a one hander. I watched Earl Anthony, Mark Roth, Holman and all the Greats on Live TV back in my Day and just have to say it's so nice to see the old/new style can still win.
Didn't get to watch the telecast, but great bowling by everyone. Mad respect to all the bowlers, especially EJ, Kyle and the guy who placed third (I don't want to jack up his name). It's my dream to be a pro and win a major (everyone can dream, don't judge me), but very few people get to actually do it. S/o to EJ. Officially a generational talent and in the conversation of GOATS. It will have been a privilege to watch his, and many other pro's, careers unfold. I hope bowling gets a resurgence in popularity. I think it deserves it.
US open this year has been AMAZING! Gz to all the bowlers! See you in a couple of years on tour!🎉
Glad EJ won, Kyle is Awesome but EJ needed the shot of confidence👍🏼🍻🇺🇸
Yes!!!!!! Finally he's win it after long time searching for it. Congratulations EJ Tackett

haven’t been here in here inna minuteeee, luv to see everyone still bowl 🥹
Thank goodness a traditional bowler won. I used to bowl with two hands until I was 4 and then my dad taught me to throw it like a man.
Tackett redeemed himself after last year's US Open.

I’m so happy to see EJ have success in a major
Wow! What A Great Finish! Congrats EJ! And great run Kyle! 👏🏾👏🏾🔥🔥
Almost had it Kyle! Great bowling from all of them
I don't know anything about bowling but the bowls of that Tackett guy looked the best by far - he didn't just plonk the ball on the court like the others and his spin was excellent
24:22 Repeated E.J.'s first ball. There no problem, but just in case you wanna fix it.
Seeing Tackett throw 2-hander revs as a one-hander while maintaining precise control is kinda nuts
Congratulations to EJ Tackett
Huge for EJ. In the last 2-3 years, hes caught some terrible breaks in stepladders.

Gotta love it, Tackett deserves that win
Congratulations!!!🎉
Congrats EJ, long overdue but u deserve it
I watched the TACKETT & TROUP match and I think they should go to their new contractor. I only have the image of TACKETT using only venom shocks. I think Brunswick now would eliminate their technique, confidence on the ball, and anxious looks.

My initial reaction was OMFG What Happened? But on the slow motion replay you can see that the ball broke high at the last second. It was still pretty bad luck, but that's bowling. In the previous match Kayhko threw ball after ball high flush and kept getting the 10 pin, or he would have beaten Troupe easily.
@educatedduck6618
Жыл бұрын
@@Ironfangzu Yea, everything you said plus EJ also got the couple ringing 10s on great shots, and Troup got the messenger AND tripped the split in the next 2 frame after the 7-9, so bowling always evens itself out. End of the day they both had to do well in the 10th and that's what it came down to.
@JonHop1
Жыл бұрын
@@Ironfangzu I feel like they should have moved in a bit. The 10 pins were all due to being too much angle and not enough to drive back. But I understand staying left to play more safe. The more you move in on that pattern, the less room for error you have. You miss left by 2 boards and you are in big trouble. Then again, be saw Troupe and EJ both sail a couple too to the right.
Great run by Troup. Final match was fun to watch.
If Tacket can throw the venom shock over the center arrow, it's game over.
Lol anytime someone 8 pins and randy is in the building, someone looks at him 😂 poor guy
10s and 9s killed that guy
You guys are alright but you'd be better if you used lighter balls and threw them perfectly straight with as much velocity as possible.
Great match. I personally cheer on the traditional one handed, thumb in bowlers. But I do understand 2 handed no thumb hole is also a skill. Congratulations EJ! 🤙🏽🇬🇺

@@megatbasyarullah4859 No worries. 32 and bowled for 25+ years. I don't hate on the 2 handed or 1 hand no thumb style. I've always been a conventional tweener one hander but would like to invest an offseason to try two handed style because it maximizes potential unless you have an almost 500 Rev rate like Tackett at one handed, which I don't haha.

@@CB-or6cb Try it. Make bowling fun for yourself. I've only bowled for 5 years. Started out as a 2 hander but for me its just too hard as i can't really consistently aim the ball so i moved to one handed. Got an avg 180. Once my avg reach the 200s I'd probably try 2 handed again.
