U.S. Military Bayonets Part 1

A look at some of the U.S. military bayonets at the Gun Barracks.
Bayonets were kind of on the side as far as collecting at the barracks. Some that I have came with the firearms I bought. I had them in a shoebox in closet. Then, I began reading about them on the internet, and discovered they have their own history and how collectible they are. My stash of what was an incidental side accessory started to grow into a collection, especially after the market was flooded with many WW2 military surplus U.S. bayonets returned from Greece some years ago. Recently the collection included M9s and OKC-3s bayonets as they too became available on the commercial market.
Finally, a rifle with a bayonet lug begs for a bayonet, so that thought drove the collecting deeper into another bayonet and another.
This video is the lead for a series of videos on U.S. military bayonets that I have at the Gun Barracks, and it covers the U.S. Model 1903/M1905 and the M1 Garand bayonets. The textual information in the video is gathered and summarized from many documentary sources found on the web and in books regarding U.S. military bayonets.

While there is plenty of information on the internet and in books, there did not seem to be much visual information on KZread about these bayonets. If anyone is collecting, I hope the video helps. Thanks for watching!
