I've actually got an M4. It ended up in my hands, eventually, through my grandmother. She had it at the house and I'd see it as a kid. Fast forward to now and I've ordered an M7 for my 20" AR.
You can really hear his tone of voice change from happy to sad with the last bayonet.
My M7 was for my grandfather which he passed away years ago it’s solid and like brand new
I own an M-7 and is a solid beast of a bayonet! No rattle…do not want to be on the receiving end of this beautiful tool.😎🙏🔪
I own an m7 that was handed down to me by my grandfather, and I would have to disagree with this video on it. It is extremely well made, no rattling whatsoever and it feels very sturdy. I assume his just took more of a beating than the one I own hahaha

Mine rattles too and as far as i know it never saw combat. I assume it's just a hit and miss as far as the guard goes. The rest is all very well put together though

Your grandfather! How old are you? How old is he? I was issued a M7 Bayonet to go with my M16A2 in 2000. I turned it in for the OKC Bayonet in 2003. USMC. Now (2020) I'm in the Army Reserve and we STILL have M7 Bayonets with M8A1 Scabbards. The Bayonet has a long service life but it isn't ancient history.

Try dropping it once or disassembling it to see all the weak points
I have the M1917 Bayonet made by Winchester, 1942 UFH for the Garand, the M4 for the M1 Carbine and the KA BAR along with the V42 Stiletto.
my m7 is solid AF
On that M7 bayonet, try taking off the handles and tapping on the metal that's holding the guard in place with a ball-peen hammer. From what I recall that will tighten it up.
I have the m2 its stamped usmc for the marines it was my great grandfather he was a tank commander in ww2

Great video! Thank you for posting!
I have an m7 and its rock solid.
Tnx for this video... Now the numbers make sense
My M7 is Silent. Don't know what you're talking about there.
I have an old m-7 and I gotta say its the best knife I've ever owned. Well beyond share and built like a tank. I think yours might be a little busted maybe time to get another.
Nice items thanks for sharing
its not the m2 it's the mk2 fighting knife, the mk1 fighting knife was before it and used by the Navy divers.
The knife you have as an M2 is a MK2. Different numbering sequence. The M2 is a folding "flick" knife issued to paratroopers
@JamesThomas-gg6il

I was gonna say the m2 is a paratrooper pocket knife. Even though it wasnt meant for the pocket. M3 through M7 all have the same blade design and only differed by the ring and attachment. Otherwise a pretty good collection.
I think I also have the M-7 but mine doesn't rattle, and seems to be made well.

But interestly, I bought a Tan Desert Storm Fighter. It resembles the M-5,6,7 blade profile. But being a General Cutlery Knife. It's made in Stainless Steel like their versions on the M series but are made in Canada and in stainless and our Anerican versions are carbon. The knife is made in quality form. I still think it was made for that Theater. ut it was short lived. The results are busy, bush that they were made for that. Anyhow I bought one at a pawmn shio for cheap. I like knives so I knew just by the scabbard that was made by a military company supplying scabbards that the knife wasn't junk but a quality knife. But no info on them.,,.p
Good video.
@GrizzlyGroundswell Thanks Chad! It's a great looking knife. Will
tighten the grip screws and it'll be good as new....

I've got an interesting M7 / M8A1 scabbard combo. The bayonet is a BOC produced one but the scabbard is a B.M. Co produced one.
I got the M4 bayonet and the sling and the oiler as a set for $47 at this gun show the guy was asking $90 for the bayonet and $25 for the sing n oiler thank god I spend all my money towards a new gun.
Thanks for the info, I saw that my m14 clone has a bayonet lug. Now the search begins.

It also says 63 B (I think it's a B could be an 8) and what looks to be a dollar sign but only half the line is through the s like a dollar sign. Anyway any idea if this thing is worth anything? Thanks nice collection!!
Hi I have a m7 combat knife in a m8a1 sheath. I'm not sure why but mine does not have the hole to connect the bayonet to rifle it's solid and slopes down. I can't seem to find any without the hole if anyone has any info on what I actually have would be much appreciated.
id like the shovel pls.
i have an M5 (not the M5A1) witch is in excellent condition except for the metal tip on the sheath is missing. does anyone know about how much it's worth?
On the m1 are you sure that one isn't cut down ? Based on how far front the fuller is and the taper it appears to be one thst is cut down.
I have a Koren war m1 grand bayonet and it has a Turkish scabbard
You forgot PAL as a manufacturer of M1 bayonets.
I have an m7 that my uncle gave me but part of the handle broke off....
A person should have a right to protect themselves and their family.
I'm building a rig for my M1A. I have an M6 bayonet for it but want to carry it in a modern style sheath nylon or kydex matters not to me both are fine. Could anyone point me down the right road to look for one...... ?
The m5 was never able to make it to Korea the cease fire was signed before they were able to ship any

Is it legal in nj
I have an M1 that has been cut down to about five inches. Was this common? Also, was this custom or made this way?
@jamesstewart4211

That was common for them in ww2 they took the ww1 surplus and cut them for ww2 size sadly it hurts the value but cool non the less
First one is chopped because i have the orginal m1 grand bayonet
I just got a bayonet for my M1 Carbine, I was wondering if shooting the rifle with the bayonet attached to the weapon would alter the accuracy any? Please reply soon, it would be much help..
@yeoldegunporn
9 жыл бұрын
It will in a most technical sense, but I highly doubt that you are shooting at such fine accuracy as to notice, and if you are, I'm not sure why the heck you'd put the bayonet on it.
@sheditz4962

If it still has ammo, you don’t need a bayonet.

Are you sure it's not lacquered leather? It feels and resembles wood.
Is colt version any better. I've seen some stamped made in Germany which I assume are knock offs and others colt in conn. I'd like to find an original for my colt m4a1

I don't think they're any better quality wise. Originally BOC made them for colt, however the colt ones are much rarer and are more valuable collectable wise.
I have a knife which looks likes the m3 but has a wooden sheath and has no marking. the guy i bought it from said it was 500 of them on the planet... anybody who knows which knife this is? sorry bad english
About 13 dollars in great condition.
M7 is just as tough. You probably have stripped screws or something
knife gets crappier as it goes

I have a knife it's just had a piece of paper in a plastic bag that said Tan Desert or Desert Tan ? can't remember, it looks like a M3 fighting knife, but mine is a very well knife, it's not a cheapo, the sheath is also tan well made but the markings on the sheath is from a company that made military sheath's but they didn't make the knife, but the fighting knife fits perfectly in the sheath, could the knife been made for Desert Storm but the Storm didn't last long and it wasn't needed anymore, any info would be appriciated.
@paulie4x1

SAY Heah, I found little bits and pieces on it, some say it wasn't made for the Desert Storm Theater, But one of my passions is knives. It's a good quality regardless. It might of not been made for that war, But then I read it was made by General Cutlery and they make the Canadian version of the M-7 bayonet, That would fit more to the description of the knife, even though it's not a bayonet, It defenetly is a fighting knife, It's not a black handle like the bayonet, But it is a well made handle just because it's tan it's a nice put together fighting knife that I would bet it could be used in combat. The blade might be the same material the Canadians M-7 are made of, it certainly does look almost to the T like one. I do think it's Stainless with the same specs as the bayonet, except it doesn't have the barrel ring, But the gaurd, the handle, the blade is of good quality and like I said it's looks like a good fighting knife. Now I wouldn't be surprised that it was made for some elite mission soldiers ready for action but a sort lived war would create some surplus. One question I have is why would a military sheath many factor would make military quality sheath's for a cheap copy knife. You see, that wouldn't make sence, and the sheath defenetly is military quality by a very reputable manufactors that makes sheath's for the military for Canada and the U.S. So my conclusion is, it's a good quality fighting knife that was auctioned off and landed to the public, and the fact it's no longer available, if it's was just a copy, I think it still would be available. I can say this It's every bit as well made as those Swiss #78's and the 79's infact I think it's even better made but not cheaper. Thanx for your reply.
I want to sell my bayonet
